Overview: The Utility Technician I is responsible for performing various general labor activities that provide assistance at the jobsite.<br/><br/>
Responsibilities: <LI>Repairs and maintains items on water, wastewater and drainage facilities.</LI><LI>Makes scheduled inspections.</LI><LI>Performs lawn and gardening maintenance and repair.</LI><LI>Shovels dirt and gravel.</LI><LI>Maintains inventory of parts and maintenance supplies.</LI><LI>Cleans office including: vacuuming, sweeping, trash pickup, bathroom/kitchen clean up.</LI><LI>Other duties as assigned.</LI><LI>Willing to work all shifts, including: weekends, holidays, evening and 24-hour emergency on call.</LI></UL>
Requirements: <p><em><strong>Education/Experience</strong></em>: High School Diploma or GED.</p> <p><em><strong>Licenses/Certifications</strong></em>: Valid Driver&rsquo;s License and maintains insurable driving record.</p> <p><em><strong>Technical</strong></em>: Ability to follow manual &amp; operating instructions. Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures &amp; safety practices. Ability to perform routine maintenance/repairs. Ability to work with required tools (including jack hammer, demolishing saw, etc.). Comfortable in and around water/raw sewage.</p> <p><em><strong>Communication</strong></em>: Communicates clearly &amp; professionally. Contributes to a positive internal &amp; external customer experience. Willing to help others. Maintains composure in challenging situations.</p> <p><em><strong>Problem Solving &amp; Quality</strong></em><strong>:&nbsp;</strong>Pays attention to detail. Identifies &amp; solves problems. Willing to take on additional assignments.</p> <p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</strong></p> <p>Must be able to: frequently lift 50-80 pounds; load, unload &amp; move large equipment/tools; access confined spaces; continuously walk and climb stairs and ladders.</p>
