Overview: The Senior Utility Technician is responsible for performing various general labor activities that include the operation of large machinery in order to provide jobsite assistance. CDL License Required.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Operates vehicles & special equipment including forklift, backhoe, amphibious vehicle and vactor.</li> <li>Keeps a detailed log of all maintenance activity</li> <li>Assists with identifying safety improvements related to facilities, equipment and procedures.</li> <li>Makes scheduled inspections.</li> <li>Performs lawn and gardening maintenance and repair.</li> <li>Carries equipment from manhole to manhole. Lifts manhole covers on and off.</li> <li>Shovels dirt and gravel.</li> <li>Maintains inventory of parts and maintenance supplies.</li> <li>Cleans office including: vacuuming, sweeping, trash pickup, bathroom/kitchen clean up.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned.</li> <li>Willing to work all shifts, including: weekends, holidays, evening and 24-hour emergency on call.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong><em>Education/Experience</em></strong>: High School Diploma or GED and 2-3 years Distribution/Collection System experience.</p> <p><strong><em>Licenses/Certifications</em></strong>: Valid Driver&rsquo;s License (Class A CDL required in order to drive combination rig of truck, trailer &amp; backhoe) and maintains insurable driving record. Level 1 Distribution/Collection System Operator license or Water/Wastewater License and ability to complete Level 2 within one year.</p> <p><strong><em>Technical</em></strong>: Ability to follow manual &amp; operating instructions. Knowledge of process control techniques, maintenance procedures &amp; safety practices. Ability to perform routine maintenance/repairs. Ability to work with required tools (including jack hammer, demolishing saw, etc.). Comfortable in and around water/raw sewage.</p> <p><strong><em>Communication</em></strong>: Communicates clearly &amp; professionally.
