Overview: Salary Range: $73,300.00 To $95,300.00 Annually<br /><br />Primary Objectives of Position: Coaches, trains, and supports a team of flexible, multi-skilled employees in accordance with the company values and strategic direction to ensure manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. The Sr. Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, managing staff, and ensuring production targets are met.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Oversee the day-today operations of the plant, ensuring production schedules and goals are met.</li> <li>Track and drive production metrics and performance.</li> <li>Allocate resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment to maximize production efficiency and effectiveness.</li> <li>Lead and manage a team of direct reports, including training, mentorship, and development.</li> <li>Aide in the management of shift schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels.</li> <li>Coordinate with other departments, such as Supply Chain, Quality, and Maintenance, to ensure seamless operations.</li> <li>Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and address opportunities.</li> <li>Communicate regularly with Plant Management to provide status updates on production status and concerns.</li> <li>Maintain documentation related to safety, compliance, and quality control.</li> <li>Prepare and submit regular production reports, including metrics on scrap, efficiency, and quality.</li> <li>Ensure all products meet quality specifications and standards.</li> <li>Identify equipment issues and coordinate repair/replacement plans with operations.</li> <li>Optimize the use of resources to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.</li> <li>Identify, lead, and facilitate continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and overall production efficiencies.</li> <li>Identify and implement cost-savings initiatives without compromising safety or quality of product and/or work.</li> <li>Works with plant and operations management to develop budgets.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Education</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Management, Business, Operations, Engineering or equivalent and/or combination of experience and education.</li> <li>Supervision &amp; Leadership Certification and Experience</li> </ul> <strong>Experience</strong><br /> <ul> <li>15+ years manufacturing leadership with increasing responsibility required.</li> <li>ISO Certification experience and knowledge preferred.</li> <li>Plastic extrusion manufacturing experience preferred.</li> </ul> <strong>Skills</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing methods.</li> <li>Strong organizational skills to coordinate workflow.</li> <li>Ability to manage time and set priorities effectively.</li> <li>Strong problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> </ul> Responsibility for Work of Others<br />Directly supervises employees, carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations and Unions policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, scheduling, assigning, and directing work. Appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.<br /><br /><strong>Physical Requirements</strong> <br /> <ul> <li>Ability to occasionally lift (weekly) up to 25 pounds and rarely lift up to 50 pounds.</li> <li>Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, twist and carry tools or materials.</li> <li>Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.</li> </ul> Salaried (exempt) employees are expected to work an average of 45 or more hours per week unless otherwise determined by their manager.<br /><br />This job specification should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position.
