Overview: <strong>Age Requirement: 21 years or older</strong><br /><br /><strong>Position Summary:</strong><br /><br />Responsible for performing regular and periodic maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on cars, trucks, and other equipment in a safe, efficient, quality minded and customer focused manner. Performs maintenance and repairs on equipment in compliance with established manufacturer&rsquo;s guidelines all while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all Resort and Casino guests.<br /><br /><strong>Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement</strong><br /><br />All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.
Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. It does not imply that all positions within the class perform all of the duties listed, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned.<br /><br /> <ul> <li>Keeps equipment and tools clean and in good operating condition.</li> <li>Records and maintains a monthly preventative maintenance schedule to capture changing filters, fluids, and hoses to ensure adherence to manufacturer&rsquo;s recommend maintenance schedules and instructions and notes when warranty is about to expire.</li> <li>Records, maintains, and stores warranty information and serial numbers for all tools, equipment, and machinery.</li> <li>Records and maintains a &ldquo;Maintenance Log Book&rdquo; logging worked preformed, to include but is not limited to: description of the equipment; description of repair problem and resolution; what repairs were made; when work was started and completed; and who performed the maintenance.</li> <li>May be assigned to drive company vehicles on public roads, to and from Isleta Pueblo properties, and/or other destinations, during shift.</li> <li>Performs repair work on vehicles such as breakdowns, malfunctions and emergency roadside repair in a safe, efficient, and quality manner.</li> <li>Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturers specifications including engines, transmissions and clutches, suspension and steering, fuel and ignition (gas and diesel), electrical systems, brakes, and HVAC systems.</li> <li>Follows paper-flow procedures including documenting correct mileage/hours, save and tag all warranty and core parts, document all repairs on work order using complaint, cause, and correction format, follow parts ordering/billing procedures.</li> <li>Performs final operational testing on all vehicles to quality-check all repairs.</li> <li>Ensures that vehicles are kept clean and washed after repair is completed.</li> <li>Performs required inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment to maximize the safety, productivity, and life of the unit.</li> <li>Performs preventive maintenance on trucks such as fluid changes, lubrications, safety inspections, and brake repairs.</li> <li>Performs preventive maintenance on off-road equipment such as lubrications, adjustments, cutting tip replacements, and safety inspections.</li> <li>Examines vehicle to determine if any additional safety or repair work is needed.</li> <li>Follows a checklist of inspection procedures.</li> <li>Test drives vehicles to diagnose malfunctions.</li> <li>Reads and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment such as an oscilloscope, which is used to measure the voltage produced by electronic components.</li> <li>Raises trucks, shuttles, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists.</li> <li>Inspects brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles.</li> <li>Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components.</li> <li>Repair or replaces malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment.</li> <li>Maintains, cleans, and organizes the shop and yard.</li> <li>Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.</li> <li>Ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancement.</li> <li>Occasionally performs other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>Education and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED preferred.</li> <li>A minimum of three (3) years of mechanical/service experience on all types of equipment/vehicles required.</li> <li>HD truck technical training or 2 years' related experience, preferred; Post-secondary training in diesel engine repair preferred.</li> <li>Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) preferred.</li> <li>Must be able to read and understand service manuals.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA - Required.</li> <li>Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.</li> <li>Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs. Required.</li> <li>Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico driver&rsquo;s license. Should not have had a driver&rsquo;s license revoked or suspended in the last three (3) years prior to the date of the employment application. Acceptability will be determined by Risk Management. Driving records will be checked.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must possess and exhibit a positive attitude toward internal and external guests at all times.</li> <li>Must be able to take direction and feedback well.</li> <li>Must be able to operate and lift moderately heavy supplies, materials, and/or equipment.</li> <li>Must possess moderate computer skills and be able to operate Microsoft and TRIMS applications and software.</li> <li>Must be able to accurately and successfully perform several tasks and meet deadlines under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Must possess strong organizational and time management skills while paying close attention to details such as spelling, numbers, and grammar.</li> <li>Must be able to communicate in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner and be able to convey denials and/or defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact.</li> <li>Must be able to perform basic mathematics to include, but is not limited to, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.</li> <li>Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals.</li> <li>Must possess a strong commitment to the organizational goals and objectives while showing the utmost discretion and loyalty to the organization when dealing with confidential information and data.</li> <li>Must possess strong critical and analytical thinking skills.</li> <li>Must be able to work a flexible and varying schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li> <li>Must be knowledgeable of safe operations of tools, power tools, and grounds keeping equipment.</li> <li>Expert knowledge of engines and controls.</li> <li>Expert knowledge of transmissions and controls.</li> <li>Expert knowledge of brakes and suspensions.</li> <li>Skilled in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems on trucks and equipment.</li> <li>Skilled in welding and cutting.</li> <li>Ability to operate various pieces of equipment such as backhoes and trenchers.</li> <li>Must be familiar with parts and components of engines, transmissions, braking mechanisms, and other complex systems.</li> <li>Must also be able to disassemble, work on, and reassemble parts and machinery.</li> <li>Troubleshooting skills. Diesel mechanics (are they working on diesel? If not, strike if they are, leave but modify must be able to identify mechanical and electronic problems, make repairs, and offer a proper maintenance strategy. Must be familiar with electronic control systems and the appropriate tools needed to fix and maintain them.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Physical Demands and Work Environment:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Must be able lift, move, and place 50 pounds.</li> <li>Must be able to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance.</li> <li>Must be able to perform twist, bend, pull, push, and crawl on a regular basis.</li> <li>Must be able to work in small confined areas.</li> <li>Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, reach.</li> <li>Repetitive motion and ability required.</li> <li>Working conditions: Frequently works outdoors.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work is generally performed in a shared service setting (Golf Course Maintenance) in which a variety of services are provided with exposure to extreme weather conditions such as high levels of heat, cold, winds, rain, hail, and snow with moderate expose to unusual elements such as dust, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Possible exposure to binding materials for plastic pipe, Blood Borne Pathogens, and other materials and tools that may, if not properly and safety handled, may result in bodily harm. Occasionally may be required to interact with hostile and/or angry guests.</li> </ul> <p><br /><br /></p> <p><strong>Native American Preference Policy</strong></p> <p>Isleta Resort and Casino will at all times and for the positions give hiring, transfers, and promotional preferences to qualified Native American applicants in the following order: <br /><br />1.
