Overview: <br />AGE REQUIREMENT: 21 years or older<br /><br />Position Summary:<br /><br />Responsible for purchasing products for the Isleta Resort and Casino and evaluate suppliers, maintain and or/negotiate contract, and review product quality while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Services to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.<br /><br />Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement<br /><br />All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.<br /><br />
Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. It does not imply that all positions within the class perform all of the duties listed, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned.<br /><ul><li>Processes purchase requisitions for the entire Isleta Resort and Casino and its amenities.</li><li>Reviews and clarifies product specifications, develops conceptual understanding of provided specifications or scope of services, identifies sources to fulfill those specifications.</li><li>Obtains competitive prices from suppliers via an ethical RFQ / RFP and or bidding process.</li><li>Processes, analyzes, and makes recommendations on purchases and purchases data and offers alternative solutions when applicable.</li><li>Converts approved purchase requisitions into purchase orders and/or contracts and awards properly authorized Purchase Orders.</li><li>Confirms receipt/acceptance of Purchase Order, assures timely delivery, resolves invoice discrepancies, and conducts supplier management.</li><li>Establishes effective working relationships with supervisory and non-supervisory internal and external guests with vendors, brokers and manufacturing companies.</li><li>Addresses and resolves issues associated with satisfying and fulfilling purchase requests in assigned areas of products, services, or specific departments.</li><li>Works with requesting departments to assist and research specification development.</li><li>Monitors supplier performance by troubleshooting and resolving issues to ensure strong supplier management.</li><li>Coordinates meetings in conjunction with respective Management and the Suppliers to promote new business opportunities or to resolve issues and maintain positive, effective, and ethical working relationships.</li><li>Establishes external traditional and emergency contacts with supplier’s sales representatives related to buyer’s assigned area of products, services, or specific department.</li><li>Ensures suppliers in assigned area of products, services, or specific departments meet established delivery dates at the lowest ethically negotiated price with respect to specification tolerances and timely supply fulfillment.</li><li>Continuously seeks and shares opportunities to enhance applicable knowledge within general or specific purchasing applications to improve the personal and departmental operational effectiveness with respect to the company’s benefit.</li><li>Inputs data and generates and/or creates reports, as requested, for the department and/or the buyer’s respective performance.</li><li>Establishes, maintains, and supports filing systems and methods of documentation of reports or purchasing activity generated by the department as to enable and satisfy an audit, inspection, and/or industry regulating standards.</li><li>Protects all Isleta Resort and Casino assets. </li><li>Ensures an open and welcoming atmosphere that promotes skill enhancement. </li><li>Greets guests, maintains a friendly and inviting atmosphere, and promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.</li><li>Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service.</li><li>Gives basic instruction on all promotions and special events. </li><li>Follow company/department SOP’s to ensure compliance with all Local, State, Tribal and Federal regulations.</li><li>Occasionally performs other duties as need. </li></ul><br />Accountability and Supervision:<br /><br />None<br /><br />
Requirements: <br /> <ul> <li>High School Degree or GED equivalent required.</li> <li>Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field, preferred.</li> <li>Five (5) years&rsquo; work experience in a Purchasing and/or Supply Chain position.</li> <li>Or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.</li> </ul> <br />Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification<br /> <ul> <li>Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.</li> <li>Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.</li> <li>Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.</li> <li>Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.</li> </ul> <br />Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<br /> <ul> <li>Must possess and exhibit a positive attitude towards internal and external guests at all times.</li> <li>Must be able to take direction well.</li> <li>Must possess moderate computer skills and be able to operate Microsoft and Stratton Warren purchasing system applications and software.</li> <li>Must be able to accurately and successfully perform several tasks under high levels of stress and with minimal supervision.</li> <li>Must possess strong organizational and time management skills while paying close attention to details such as spelling, numbers, and grammar.</li> <li>Must be able to communicate, in writing and verbally, in English and in an effective, informative, and professional manner and be able to convey denials and/or defuse hostile guest situations with ease and tact.</li> <li>Must possess a highly developed sense of customer service and interpersonal skills including high integrity and respect for individuals.</li> <li>Must possess a strong commitment to the organizational goals and objectives while showing the utmost discretion and loyalty to the organization when dealing with confidential information and data.</li> <li>Must possess strong critical and analytical thinking skills.</li> <li>Must be knowledgeable of purchasing policies and procedures to include Open Marketing Purchasing, Formal Contracting, and Negotiating Techniques.</li> <li>Must be capable of strategically identifying opportunities for cost savings, value creation, and be able to oversee implementation of those opportunities.</li> <li>Must be able to deal skillfully and tactfully interact with suppliers to ensure adequate and timely response to operational purchasing needs.</li> <li>Must possess analytical skills preferably within the casino, resort, or hospitality environment and strong functional understanding of Procurement practices and/or theories.</li> </ul> <br /> <br /><br />Physical Demands and Work Environment:<br /> <ul> <li>Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.</li> <li>Must be able to lift, move, and place 25 pounds.</li> <li>Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.</li> </ul> <br />Working Conditions: <br /><br />Work is generally performed in an office setting with the possibility of exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level.
