Overview: <br />Age Requirement: 21 years or older<br /><br />Position Summary:<br /><br />Performs skilled tasks in the installation, service, repair and maintenance of major kitchen appliances, dishwashers, trash compactors, ovens, microwave ovens, refrigerators and other related appliances. Installs, maintains, and/or repairs plumbing systems and related equipment. All while promoting and exhibiting World Class Guest Service to all the Isleta Resort and Casino employees and guests.<br /><br />Isleta Resort and Casino Guest Service Agreement<br /><br />All Team Members will display 100% commitment to World Class Guest Service through the delivery and maintenance of Guest Service Standards established by the Isleta Resort and Casino.<br /><br />
Responsibilities: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class. It does not imply that all positions within the class perform all of the duties listed, nor does it necessarily list all possible duties that may be assigned.<br /><ul><li>Familiarization with safety, work place, education and understanding of OSHA standards, CPR and First Aid.</li><li>Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.</li><li>Installs, inspects, and repairs Major Kitchen Appliances and related Refrigeration systems</li><li>Diagnoses problems in kitchen appliances, refrigerators, ovens, pulpers, disposal units and microwave ovens. Performs preventive maintenance on systems to include electrical and digital controls.</li><li>May perform minor sell-fluxing; reads and interprets blueprints and sketches; reads and interprets various gauges.</li><li>Maintains the water and drainage systems at the Isleta properties and associated support facilities.</li><li>Inspects systems to ascertain cause of malfunctions or repairs. Replaces plumbing fixtures, such as sinks, commodes, water heaters, and hot water tanks.</li><li>Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers or leaky faucets, mending or replacing burst or leaky pipes, and opening clogged drains.</li><li>Measures, cuts threads, and installs water/sewer pipe and fittings; may prepare estimates of material, time, labor, and may order supplies.</li><li>May be required to install, maintain, and repair gas/heating systems and perform gas-fitting work.</li><li>Performs daily checks, completes assigned work orders and daily duties per Facility Maintenance SOPs.</li><li>Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.</li><li>Maintains accurate preventive maintenance records.</li><li>Responds to Security alarm calls as needed.</li><li>Keeps work area clean and performs housekeeping duties as required.</li><li>Documents work by completing paperwork on each job, including daily time, progress, and duration in accordance to Facility Maintenance SOPs.</li><li>Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.</li><li>Responds to repair/maintenance calls and performs routine security checks, as assigned by supervisor and the Daily Duty Checklist, in accordance to Facilities Maintenance and Resort & Casino SOPs and/or Procedures/Policies.</li><li>Occasionally, prepares written materials (e.g. scope of work, work orders, bids, equipment inventory, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written support and/or conveying information.</li><li>Occasionally performs quality control and inspection duties related to the trade.</li><li>Familiarization with shop practices, operation and use of equipment, hand and power tools, and materials.</li><li>Familiarization with safety, work place, education and understanding of State and local Safety Orders.</li><li>Familiarization with Blueprint reading, National Electric Code (NEC), Uniform Pluming Code (UMC), National Fire Protection Association Codes (NEPA), Life Safety Code, and local codes/practices as they pertain to trade.</li><li>Performs other duties of a similar or related level as necessary or assigned.</li><li>May be assigned to drive company vehicle on public roads, to and from Isleta Pueblo properties, and/or other destinations, during shift.</li></ul><br />Accountability and Supervision:<br /><ul><li>May instruct, lead and supervise lesser skilled tradesperson</li></ul><br />
Requirements: <ul> <li>High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent required.</li> <li>Must have four years paid experience in kitchen appliance service and repair, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work in a Journeyman capacity; MM-1 MM-2, MM-3 and MM-4.</li> <li>A certificate of completion of such a program from a post-high school vocational institute may substitute for two years paid experience.</li> <li>Four years proven experience in plumbing as Journeyman; or a certificate of completion of such a program from a post-high school vocational institute may substitute for two years proven experience</li> </ul> <br />Special Requirements, Licenses, and Certification<br /> <ul> <li>Must be able to acquire and maintain Gaming License issued through POIGRA.</li> <li>Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background investigation.</li> <li>Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any days/hours as needed or required to meet business needs.</li> <li>Must maintain all Isleta Resort and Casino-wide educational and certification requirements.</li> <li>Must have a valid New Mexico driver&rsquo;s license with no restrictions as part of the employment requirements. Should not have had a driver&rsquo;s license revoked or suspended in the last 3 years prior to the date of the Employment Application, acceptability will be determined by Risk Management. Driving records will be checked periodically to ensure continued compliance with this requirement.</li> <li>New Mexico State or Federally issued Journeyman License (trade specific) or MM98.</li> <li>Certification/Licensure Electrical Journeyman License (MM98); a second related Journeyman's License; or Equivalent military experience or Completion of 60 Credit Hours Electrical. Preferred.</li> </ul> <br />Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:<br /> <ul> <li>Extensive knowledge of special tools, equipment, materials, methods and practices of the Kitchen Appliances and/or HVAC Trades</li> <li>Ability to perform difficult Kitchen Appliance/Plumbing tasks</li> <li>Ability to plan Kitchen Appliance footprints, and work from blueprints and specifications.</li> <li>Ability to plan and design local plumbing projects</li> <li>Ability to operate electric and combustion engine high-lift equipment.</li> <li>Ability to work alone without supervision as a member of the Maintenance Call-Out team.</li> <li>Ability to read and write English; prepare records and reports.</li> <li>Ability to operate light and some heavy duty equipment; to use manual tools; to operate power tools; to keep records; to perform basic arithmetic or complex depending on trade; to measure correctly.</li> <li>Possess extensive knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of assigned trade or job duties.</li> <li>Possess extensive knowledge of State and Federal codes as it pertains to trade.</li> <li>Possess good knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the trade.</li> <li>Must be able to read, interpret, prepare, draft, and maintain all records, documents, prints, blueprints, and as-builts required of the trade.</li> </ul> <br />Physical Demands and Work Environment:<br /> <ul> <li>Must be able to navigate up and down stairs, ladders, crawl spaces, catwalks and uneven surfaces both in and out doors</li> <li>Must be able to climb ladders 40 feet in height and work at heights 27 feet from the floor&rsquo;s surface</li> <li>Must be able to stand for extended periods of time</li> <li>Must be able to lift objects up to 100 - 200 pounds with assistance</li> <li>Must be able to lift, move and place 50 pounds with assistance</li> <li>Must be able to push and/or pull 50 pounds</li> <li>Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions particular to this region</li> <li>Must be able to work in small confined areas</li> <li>Smoke filled environment</li> <li>Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, and/or loud noises</li> <li>Work is generally performed in both, an indoor and outdoor Casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Possible exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazards, Blood Borne Pathogens, dirt, dust, fumes, and/or unpleasant odors.</li> <li>May involve exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)</li> <li>May occasionally deal with angry or hostile individuals</li> <li>May be required to work weekends and special events</li> </ul>
