Engineer

Overview: <ul> <li>Recommends and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls.</li> <li>Coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products.</li> <li>Support and coordinate on site engineering activities.</li> <li>Support and advise engineering technicians and production staff.</li> <li>Responsible for multiple highly complex major projects requiring innovative original solutions where results are key to successful completion of major projects.</li> <li>Work mostly independently with minimal supervision and work is reviewed at project milestones and/or on completion by Senior Management.</li> </ul>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production plans.</li> <li>Equipment prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with industrial standards, legal requirements, local and national regulations.</li> <li>Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results.</li> <li>Create manning plans based on volume forecasts for new programs.</li> <li>Gives input to product design based on design for manufacture/design for assembly.</li> <li>Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.</li> <li>Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.</li> <li>Coordinate, develop and document quality system for new programs (control plan, PFMEA, process flow, work instructions, and inspection plans.).</li> <li>Coordinate and document all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.</li> <li>Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements.</li> <li>Participate in the development and refinement of Design and Process FMEA's (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).</li> <li>Write reports and present progress for project meetings, management and customers.</li> <li>Develop and maintain documentation such as downtime, scrap, and efficiencies.</li> <li>Utilize data such as downtime, scrap, efficiencies, etc. to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems.</li> <li>Keep up with current and developing manufacturing and engineering trends that concern product quality.</li> <li>Leads or participates in activities to ensure continuous improvement in processes, products, components, raw materials, and equipment.( Kaizen or similar)</li> <li>Control departmental and project budgets.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Degree in engineering field with minimum five (5) years engineering experience.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplier experience.</li> <li>Minimum 5 years plastics process, assembly process and equipment experience.</li> <li>Automotive manufacturing industry.</li> <li>Vehicle interior trim process experience.</li> <li>Process design knowledge.</li> <li>Assembly, fixture and jig concept design.</li> <li>Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing technique.</li> <li>Robot and control programing.</li> <li>Machinery and equipment control systems.</li> <li>Problem analysis and problem resolution methodology</li> <li>Familiarity with current automotive standard and regulations.</li> <li>Familiarity with "office software".</li> <li>Previous experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.</li> </ul>
