Overview: <p>You will be part of the Maintenance Team responding and resolving day-to-day issues as well as undertaking preventative maintenance. The effective discharging of these duties will require a close working relationship with the Production team to identify improvements to plant reliability, safety and product quality.&nbsp;The overall view is to achieve and maintain world class levels of manufacturing that accords with the global Kingspan reputation. The position demands high level fault finding on both electrical and mechanical applications.</p> <p>The Maintenance Technician is expected to operate a wide range of workshop and hand tools, identify and analyse a variety of equipment problems based on noise and/or vibration, move lift and/or carry a variety of objects including power tools and large machine parts, etc. in order to carry out necessary repairs or projects.</p> <p>The Maintenance Technician will be working with potentially hazardous or dangerous materials, noisy and dusty environments, in situations and locations carefully designed and monitored to ensure their safety and the safety of others, as well as the protection of the environment.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Maintenance Technician must ensure that equipment is not operated without correctly fitted guards and enclosures, that all relevant monitoring equipment is operating correctly, and that appropriate procedures are followed.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <p>The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the reliability, accuracy and availability of production plant and equipment, which in turn are critical to the quality of our products and our ability to deliver them to our customers on time.&nbsp; The Maintenance Technician also plays a critical role in the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment.</p> <p>The Maintenance Technician responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>&lsquo;Trouble-Shoot&rsquo; the production lines and associated equipment whenever necessary.</li> <li>Maintain, repair or modify equipment, including planned preventative maintenance, in cooperation with the Production Department. Work should be done in accordance with relevant Manufacturer&rsquo;s instructions, Company Policies and Procedures, agreed Maintenance Schedule and accepted workplace and legislated Standards and Regulations.</li> <li>Liaise with Production Supervisors, Technicians and Managers to ensure priorities are appropriate.</li> <li>Ensure all unplanned stoppages are reported, investigated and recorded to failure mode level so effective analysis can be completed enabling the correct and appropriate counter measures to be identified and implemented. Liaise with the relevant Managers to ensure appropriate corrective and/or preventive actions are identified and implemented.</li> <li>From time to time undertake nominated projects.</li> <li>If suitably qualified, undertake electrical and electronics work within production, and undertake general electrical work for the whole site or, if necessary, arrange suitable contractors to undertake these tasks. This work includes all Safety checks, etc. such as portable appliances, extension leads, emergency lights, etc.</li> <li>Complete all relevant paperwork and on-line reports for all work, and file reports etc. in correct locations.</li> <li>Alert the relevant Supervisor(s) and/or Manager(s) of any product or process problem identified during maintenance activities and undertake any investigation as may be required to help establish causes and suitable corrective actions.</li> <li>Maintain spare parts stocks and ensure necessary parts, lubricants, etc. are reordered and placed in their correct location when received.</li> <li>Ensure the workshop is kept clean and tidy, and free from obstructions or other safety hazards. Ensure tools and equipment are stored correctly and equipment shut-down at the end of each day.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required.</strong><br /> <p>This job is equivalent to a C7 Wage Group minimum classification of the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2010.</p> <p>Qualifications or Experience in the following areas are required:</p> <ul> <li>Equivalent to trade certificate or tradespersons rights - Certificate III in Engineering, Mechanical Trade;</li> <li>Understand and apply quality control techniques;</li> <li>Exercise good interpersonal and communications skills;</li> <li>Proficient keyboard and HMI skills;</li> <li>Exercise discretion;</li> <li>Work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment;</li> <li>Operate lifting equipment incidental to their work;</li> <li>Perform non-trade tasks incidental to their work;</li> <li>Perform work which while primarily involving the skills of the employee&rsquo;s trade is incidental or peripheral to the primary task and facilitates the completion of the whole task, provided that such incidental or peripheral work does not require additional formal technical training;</li> <li>Inspect processes, products and/or materials for conformity with established operational standards;</li> <li>Full forklift licence.</li> </ul> <p><em>Additional training requirements and experience will be gained through performing of on-the-job functions.</em></p> <p>Qualifications or Experience in the following areas are not essential but would be useful to the employee;</p> <ul> <li>Restricted Electrical Licence &ndash; Class 1</li> <li>Elevated Work Platform Licence</li> <li>Workplace First Aid</li> <li>Structured problem solving and fault finding.</li> <li>Working in a Hazardous Area</li> <li>Working with Dangerous Goods</li> </ul> <strong>Travel</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Travel to training, seminars and conferences may be required.</li> </ul> <strong>Additional Eligibility Requirements</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Satisfactory pre-employment medical results.</li> <li>Satisfactory professional references checks.</li> <li>Current, non-restricted AU driver&rsquo;s license.</li> <li>Valid passport for international travel.</li> </ul> <strong>Work Authorization/Security Clearance</strong><br /> <ul> <li>No Visa sponsorship is available for this position.</li> <li>Clear background check.</li> </ul>
