Responsibilities: The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for identifying areas to be audited based upon compliance and business need. Plans, oversees, performs and audits at various properties to assess effectiveness and efficiency of operations. This leader will oversee the 3 property locations in the LA coastline area including L'Auberge Lake Charles, L'Auberge Baton Rouge, and Boomtown New Orleans and must office from any of these locations of their choice.<br /> <ul> <li>Responsible for supervising and managing the Internal Audit team.</li> <li>Develops, implements and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives in defined area.</li> <li>Creates effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives and achieving internal customer satisfaction.</li> <li>Responsible for assisting in the company&rsquo;s annual budget process and provides recommendations; ensuring compliance to company budget initiatives; reporting budget concerns to Leadership.</li> <li>Reviews, prepares and follows audit programs to conduct audits.</li> <li>Performs detail testing of source documents to ensure compliance with requirements of Internal Control Manuals, Regulatory Rules/Acts and departmental policies and procedures.</li> <li>Performs observations and analysis of departmental procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiencies.</li> <li>Develops and recommends alternative procedures to enhance operations.</li> <li>Recommends improvements to procedures, operational efficiencies and continued compliance.</li> <li>Identifies weaknesses and provides options regarding Audit processes for the entire organization.</li> <li>Completes audit files with working papers referenced to the audit program.</li> <li>Reviews internal audit staff audit files.</li> <li>Presents audit issues to Executive Leadership for discussion, review, and report recommendations.</li> <li>Maintains and reviews audit files, ensures files contain planning memos, programs and reports and follows up to ensure audit recommendations have been followed.</li> <li>Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of efforts, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with law, government regulations, and management plans, policies or procedures.</li> <li>Liaises with external auditors to communicate information and resolve problems.</li> <li>Assists with SOX scoping, planning and management of audit work.</li> <li>Assists in planning the theory and scope of audits and related audit programs.</li> <li>Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to Executive Management.</li> </ul> <br /> <p><strong><u>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</u></strong>&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br /></strong></p> <ul> <li>Responsible for staff development and training programs.</li> <li>Responsible for rewards and recognition program to maximize employee engagement.</li> <li>Evaluates team members within department and delivers constructive feedback to employees&nbsp;regarding performance.</li> <li>Determines recommendation for staffing (including interviewing and hiring) and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business needs.</li> <li>Determines work procedures and expedites workflow.</li> <li>Responsible for employee performance (disciplining, coaching, counseling).</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be at least 21 years of age.<br /><br /></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from accredited four-year college in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, or related field; or three to five years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Leadership experience required. Familiarity with standards, concepts, practices and procedures within Sarbanes-Oxley Act, gaming and/or pari-mutual wagering is desired. CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA or candidate for certification strongly desired.</li> <li>Must be open for minimal work travel, up to 10% of time.</li> <li>Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks, projects and personnel simultaneously with a positive, approachable demeanor. Must possess ability to prioritize conflicting duties for self and accounting department while maintaining timeline integrity for projects and tasks.</li> <li>Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.</li> <li>Must be self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision/oversight by anticipating next steps. Must have technical proficiency and knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).</li> <li>Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and balance multiple projects and processes simultaneously.</li> <li>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
