Focused on data-driven decision making and strong relationship building, the Analyst will be responsible for building annual giving audience analyses that will drive strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director of Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Data Analyst is responsible for managing all data requirements associated with central annual giving.

Overview: The LSU Foundation is seeking a curious and passionate professional for the position of Annual Giving Data Analyst. Focused on data-driven decision making and strong relationship building, the Analyst will be responsible for building annual giving audience analyses that will drive strategy. Reporting to the Senior Director of Annual Giving, the Annual Giving Data Analyst is responsible for managing all data requirements associated with central annual giving.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Reporting and Data Analysis</strong></p> <ul> <li>Create visually pleasing and easy to read reports that drive strategy within the department and inform leadership and colleges/units of annual giving results.</li> <li>Provide annual giving reporting services to partners in colleges and units with a focus on the following types of reporting: analytics, audience analysis, annual giving results, and prospect identification.</li> <li>Synthesize information and develop key findings that will drive strategic decisions in annual giving across the organization.&nbsp;</li> <li>Present written, graphic, and oral reports to colleagues on results of projects.&nbsp;</li> <li>Serve as the primary liaison with the information services team. Request all data needed to successfully execute director marketing campaigns. In partnership with annual giving project managers, segment and deliver all data for project execution.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Program Development</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop a comprehensive testing strategy for marketing activities that will support the program&rsquo;s long-term growth and helps the program identify new markets.</li> <li>Leverage analytics to support the goals of the annual giving program &ndash; ranging from strategy development for model score deployment and the creation of predictive models to increase the impact of annual giving.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Prospect Development</strong></p> <ul> <li>Educate fundraising staff on annual giving resources and policies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Conduct other proactive projects for use by fundraisers under the direction of the Senior Director.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Technology Resource</strong></p> <ul> <li>Understand advancement information systems.</li> <li>Consult with analytics experts, colleagues, and consultants, attend seminars and training courses to acquire body of knowledge and best practices in prospect management and data analysis.</li> <li>Actively seek and collect data that supports the business processes of fundraising, such as peer-benchmarking studies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Cultivate knowledge of University programs and priorities, and of individuals and organizations whose partnership with the university would be beneficial.</li> <li>Contribute to evaluation of analysis tools and make recommendations to the Senior Director.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Marginal Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Performs related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions related to this position.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited college or university</li> <li>Two or more years of experience working within an advancement office, preferably in higher education</li> <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to work with technical and nontechnical staff</li> <li>Attention to detail</li> <li>Critical thinking skills&nbsp;</li> <li>Data analysis skills</li> <li>Strong Microsoft Office skills with a focus on Excel including comfort merging and cleaning large data sets</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities</li> <li>Superior organization skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Knowledge &amp; Skill Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Three of more years of business analysis and/or data gathering experience; project management skills and familiarity working with relational databases</li> <li>Experience in Advizor Solutions, Advance C/S, Cognos, knowledge of SQL and statistical analysis software, such as SPSS</li> <li>Working knowledge of a CRM&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>None</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Environment Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>May be required to occasionally work extended workdays, evenings or weekends</li> </ul>
