Associate Director of Annual Funds - LSU Law Center

The Associate Director of Annual Funds will be responsible for annual fund initiatives for the LSU Law Center and will be under the general direction of the Director of External Relations and Advancement for the Law Center and the Senior Director of Annual Giving at the LSU Foundation. The position requires collaboration with counterparts at the LSU Foundation to manage Law-related content and targeting of direct mail, email and calling campaigns conducted by the Foundation.

Associate Director

Overview: <p>The Associate Director of Annual Funds will be responsible for annual fund initiatives for the LSU Law Center and will be under the general direction of the Director of External Relations and Advancement for the Law Center and the Senior Director of Annual Giving at the LSU Foundation.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Associate Director of Annual Funds will assist in planning, coordinating and implementing a comprehensive program focused on increasing an already substantial unrestricted Annual Fund program which includes a law firm campaign, Dean&rsquo;s Council level of giving, direct mail and electronic mail campaigns, and a faculty and staff campaign.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The position requires collaboration with counterparts at the LSU Foundation to manage Law-related content and targeting of direct mail, email and calling campaigns conducted by the Foundation.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <p><u>Initiatives:&nbsp;</u></p> <ul> <li>Plan a yearly calendar to coordinate all Annual Fund initiatives with the LSU Foundation.&nbsp;</li> <li>Schedule and manage a web-based, direct mail and email appeal program for all Annual Fund giving levels.&nbsp;</li> <li>Work with the LSU Foundation and Law Center professionals to build and test segmentation tables throughout the fiscal year.</li> <li>Responsible for activities designed to grow the base of Annual Fund donors each year by expanding the firm campaign and developing other mechanisms that encourage individuals to participate.&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee the production and distribution of volunteer support materials, including statements of intent, pledge cards for personal solicitation and training materials.</li> <li>Responsible for certain aspects of stewardship for the Annual Fund and Dean&rsquo;s Council membership.</li> <li>Responsible for running reports to evaluate activities and levels of participation.&nbsp;</li> <li>Serve as the primary contact with the LSU Foundation to carefully manage the list of graduates who will receive various solicitations throughout the year.</li> <li>Work with Law Center communications staff to develop language for Annual Fund appeals and websites.&nbsp;</li> <li>Oversee non-Foundation mailing process as needed with graphic artists and vendors.</li> <li>Support the Law Center&rsquo;s participation in the phone-a-thon coordinated by the LSU Foundation.</li> </ul> <p><u>Responsibilities for Specific Campaigns:</u></p> <ul> <li>Coordinate initiatives for the Law Firm-based Annual Fund campaign, including activities such as updating firm rosters, updating the law firm&rsquo;s individual giving site through Community Fund or other provider, and coordinating with the Law Firm leadership on giving statistics and outcomes.&nbsp;</li> <li>Manage a program of Leadership Annual Giving (Dean&rsquo;s Council), and work with volunteer management to grow and maintain the base of support for the Dean&rsquo;s Council.&nbsp;</li> <li>Track annual renewals of Dean&rsquo;s Council members and ensure that membership rosters on the website and in Advance are kept up to date.&nbsp;</li> <li>Carefully manage the rotating renewal process for Dean&rsquo;s Council members, including letters and other print and electronic solicitations designed to remind existing members of their upcoming renewal dates.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop an annual plan for retaining and encouraging growth of the Dean&rsquo;s Council, including regional events designed to bring in additional membership and to encourage higher levels of giving by existing members. Responsible for planning and executing other creative ideas designed to increase the membership.&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain the website and Advance data system to chronicle active membership of the Dean&rsquo;s Council and to accurately report on the Law Firm-based Annual Fund campaign.&nbsp;</li> <li>Coordinate a yearly staff and faculty campaign.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Marginal Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Performs related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions related to this position.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited college or university</li> <li>Outstanding communication, organization, and interpersonal skills</li> <li>Attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities</li> <li>Strong problem solving and decision-making skills</li> <li>Must possess the ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a mix of alumni, students, faculty/staff and colleagues</li> <li>Strong Microsoft Office skills with a focus on Excel or Access</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Knowledge &amp; Skill Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with advancement/fundraising/relationship data systems</li> <li>Knowledge of the legal community</li> </ul> <p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Some supervision of students as assigned</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Environment Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>May be required to occasionally work extended workdays, evenings or weekends in conjunction with alumni events and annual fund programs</li> <li>Prolonged use of computer with some lifting and moving</li> </ul>
