Overview: This position reports directly to the Director of Communications and External Relations and works in conjunction with the LSU Foundation&rsquo;s Assistant Vice President of Development within the strategic development environment of the LSU Foundation. &nbsp;The primary responsibility of this role is the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospects with the capacity to make a financial commitment in the form of a major gift or bequest.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Qualify prospective donors for portfolio</li> <li>Create individual goals for each donor in the portfolio</li> <li>Establish an engagement plan for each donor on the caseload that is focused on fulfilling the donor&rsquo;s interests and passions, subsequently executing that plan and modifying it as circumstances change</li> <li>Work with Law Center faculty and staff to secure project information for creating compelling giving opportunities (front-end) and reporting to donors on how their giving made a difference (back-end)</li> <li>Utilize the donor database effectively to document progress with donors</li> <li>Follow the policies and procedures to coordinate with fundraising agencies on campus</li> <li>Interact and collaborate with colleagues and fellow team members on a regular basis</li> <li>Assists in execution of various alumni events as part of stewardship and cultivation activities of the office</li> <li>Attend events or meetings as needed</li> </ul> <p><strong>Marginal Duties &amp; Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform other duties as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <div class="job-listing-header"><strong>Requirements</strong></div> <div data-bind="html: Job.Requirements"> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited college or university.</li> <li>Minimum of five years of major gift fundraising and/or alumni relations experience, and/or minimum of five years of experience in outside sales or organization building in a for-profit or non-profit environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Knowledge &amp; Skill Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Juris Doctor (JD) or a related degree from an accredited college or university; work experience in the legal field may substitute for a degree in this area.</li> <li>A proven track record of soliciting and securing major gifts in a university environment.</li> <li>Familiarity with electronic university advancement databases.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>May supervise student workers as assigned.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Environment Requirements&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>May be required to occasionally work extended workdays, evenings or weekends.</li> <li>Approximately 50% of time to be spent traveling.</li> </ul> </div>
