Senior Director

Overview: The LSU Foundation is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual with demonstrated track record of success to serve as its Senior Director of Donor Relations. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for the organization and management of a comprehensive program to foster and nurture lasting relationships between LSU and its donors, and to steward gifts, especially endowed funds, campaign, and leadership level gifts. The senior director will partner with college and unit development professionals to more fully engage donors and prospects, to build confidence that their gifts have impact, and to help strengthen their philanthropic support. They will also strengthen our ties nationally, serving as the architect for our National Board and developing our regional event strategy.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide strong vision and staff leadership for a balanced and dynamic, donor-centered program of acknowledgment, reporting, recognition, and engagement.</li> <li>Formulate and execute strategies and tactics that foster long-term relationships with donors, including recognition initiatives, stewardship reports, and events.</li> <li>Plan and oversee the implementation of individualized donor engagement opportunities to steward principal donors, board members, and other key donors.</li> <li>Plan and oversee engagement strategies for our National Board members. Manage and leverage their capacity as volunteers.</li> <li>Develop and execute a strategy for regional events that will deepen engagement and broaden our base of support in new territories.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide additional guidance and support to stewardship plans maintained by Office of Annual Giving.&nbsp;</li> <li>Develop and implement ideas and coordinate with development staff to increase fundraising through excellent donor relations efforts.</li> <li>Oversee and manage the stewardship of endowed and restricted funds, reviewing the status annually and to assure appropriate stewardship strategies are in place and executed.</li> <li>Develop and coordinate plan to manage donor recognition, including signage, honor rolls and events.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Marginal Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Perform additional duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <div class="job-listing-header"><strong>Requirements</strong></div> <div data-bind="html: Job.Requirements"> <ul> <li>Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university</li> <li>A minimum of five years of related experience</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive donor relations strategy, specifically in the areas of receipting, acknowledgment, reporting, recognition and engagement.</li> <li>Proven experience serving in a managerial or supervisory capacity</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Knowledge &amp; Skill Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Advanced degree in a related field</li> <li>Experience with a customer relationship management (CRM) system, and basic knowledge of relational databases, e.g. ADVANCE</li> <li>Work-related experience gained in a higher education environment with emphasis on fundraising</li> <li>Ability to work within a team environment</li> <li>Strong communication, analytic and critical thinking skills</li> <li>Organizational skills to handle and prioritize several projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and work independently</li> </ul> <p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Supervises donor relations team</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Environment Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>May be required to occasionally work extended workdays, evenings or weekends</li> </ul> </div>
