Assistant Director

Overview: The Assistant Director of Human Resources plays an integral role in achieving the strategic objectives associated with payroll administration, regulatory compliance, benefits administration, and compensation review. Reporting to the head of Talent Management, this individual should regularly advance the organization&rsquo;s culture and values by exhibiting humility, integrity, and inclusion in all facets of their work.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <p><u>35% - Payroll</u></p> <ul> <li>Utilizes automated system to administer accurate and timely payroll processes</li> </ul> <p><u>30% - Benefits</u></p> <ul> <li>Performs benefit administration for programs such as retirement plans, medical and dental plans, and disability programs. Duties include change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness.</li> <li>Conducts new employee benefits onboarding.</li> <li>Manages annual open enrollment process. Assists with communicating changes to employees and arrange for onsite representation by providers.</li> </ul> <p><u>15% - Administration/Compliance</u></p> <ul> <li>Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.</li> <li>Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.</li> <li>Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes.</li> <li>Prepares, generates, and analyzes ongoing and ad-hoc special reports pertaining to employee personnel information and data, including issues such as benefit costs, staffing levels, turnover, and other applicable HR metrics.</li> </ul> <p><u>10% - Onboarding/Engagement and Retention</u></p> <ul> <li>&nbsp;In partnership with the individual responsible for recruitment and retention, coordinates &nbsp;new hire onboarding and orientation sessions.&nbsp;</li> <li>&nbsp;Collaborates with Talent Management team on support and execution of engagement events.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><u>10% - Supervision</u></p> <ul> <li>Manages the office administrator position.</li> </ul> <p><u>5% - Miscellaneous</u></p> <ul> <li>&nbsp;Perform duties as assigned by manager and offers assistance to employees with questions or issues that arise.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Non-essential/Marginal Position Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in the planning and creation of operating policies and procedures.</li> </ul>
