Overview: <p>The Director of Development will be responsible for cultivating and soliciting prospective donors with the potential to contribute major gifts aimed at meeting the strategic goals of the museum, university, and Foundation.</p>
Responsibilities: <p><strong>Essential Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manages the overall strategic vision of the development office;</li> <li>Maintains a portfolio of major gift prospects and ensures the museum is engaged with high-level donors, prospective donors, and volunteers;</li> <li>Works with the Advancement Services staff to track and plan the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of donor prospects;</li> <li>Collaborates with the Office of Industry Engagement;</li> <li>Assists with the management and recordkeeping of the museum&rsquo;s fundraising effort, including campaign planning and financial reporting;</li> <li>Assists in the communication and coordination of activities with fundraising agencies, including the LSU Foundation, LSU Alumni Association, Tiger Athletic Foundation offices, and outside parties;&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Marginal Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Works collaboratively with colleagues across campus;&nbsp;</li> <li>Attends events or meetings with volunteers and staff as needed;</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <div class="job-listing-header"><strong>Requirements</strong></div> <div data-bind="html: Job.Requirements"> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited college or university</li> <li>Three to five years&rsquo; experience of major gift work or nonprofit fundraising&nbsp;</li> <li>A proven track record of soliciting and securing major gifts</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Knowledge &amp; Skill Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Excellent interpersonal, administrative and organizational skills</li> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li> <li>Familiarity with electronic university advancement databases</li> </ul> <p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>None</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Environment Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>May be required to work extended workdays, evenings, and weekends to meet deadlines</li> <li>Travel is required as necessary</li> </ul> </div>
