Overview: This position is responsible for developing and administering employee benefits programs such as 401(k) retirement plans, medical and life insurance, dental, optical, disability and accidental death insurance. Duties include researching, designing, and evaluating the benefits options offered to employees for all divisions. Must be familiar with laws and regulations governing employee benefits including employer tax incentives associated with certain benefits.
Responsibilities: &bull; Ensures that plans, policies, programs, and procedures are current, compliant, and that the company is getting value for the investment in our programs.<br />&bull; Establishes education and communication system for plans, programs, and policies through presentations, handbooks, brochures, and open enrollment materials.<br />&bull; Ensures that plans are positioned competitively and meeting the company&rsquo;s recruiting, staffing, and retention needs. Researches and recommends methods for cost containment.<br />&bull; Provides up-to-date knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations and legislation. Researches and recommends methods for compliance.<br />&bull; Oversees company compliance with ERISA, review and timely filing of 5500&rsquo;s, Summary Annual Reports, Summary Plan Descriptions.<br />&bull; Leads the negotiation and renewal of service arrangements.<br />&bull; Monitors all agreements and proper execution of such with outside service consultants and service providers.<br />&bull; Assists employees and plant locations staff in problem resolution.<br /><br /><strong>SCOPE &amp; IMPACT:</strong><br />This position will have a direct impact on all employee benefit programs and will be responsible to ensure that they link to overall corporate objectives. The position will be responsible for up to two direct reports. Assist in the development, control, and monitoring of benefit related budget items.
Requirements: <strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br />&bull; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Human Resources or related field with 8 - 10 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.<br />&bull; Strong communications skills, oral and written<br />&bull; Ability to analyze, condense and report out data<br />&bull; Proficient in Microsoft Office<br />&bull; Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and international regulations and legislation impacting benefit plans.<br />&bull; Travel: Up to 5%<br /><br /><strong>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br />&bull; MBA<br />&bull; Certified SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR<br /><br /><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong>&nbsp;Approximately two (2) direct reports.<br /><br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:<br />Operates in a professional office environment, not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.<br /><br /><strong>CORE ATTRIBUTES:</strong><br />Communicate Transparently<br />Lead the Team<br />Impact and Influence<br />Deliver Results<br />Coach and Develop<br /><br />At La-Z-Boy, we are committed to fostering an environment in which all employees feel valued, included, and empowered to do their best work and bring great ideas to the table.
