Overview: This position is responsible for overseeing and managing effective internal communication strategies that inform and educate La-Z-Boy employees, help inspire engagement and drive business results across the organization. Serves as communications expert, providing a comprehensive understanding of the internal audience, various communication channels available and best practices to ensure key messages are delivered effectively and consistently. Routinely evaluate programs and their success metrics and adjust plans accordingly.
Responsibilities: &bull; Develops and implements company-wide internal communication strategies, tactics, schedule and materials to support goals and objectives, and engage employees.<br />&bull; Research best practices and benchmarks against others to improve and enhance communications strategy.<br />&bull; Develops systems and processes to secure internal communications content that is appropriate for achieving business goals, effectively informing employees and fostering alignment.<br />&bull; Sources content, writes material and serves as editor for all employee communications including, but not limited to, corporate social network (Yammer), information screens at the World Headquarters, and manufacturing facilities, news/announcements, event communications, etc.<br />&bull; In partnership with senior leadership, Human Resources, and other needed stakeholders, creates a corporate-wide editorial calendar to ensure all areas are represented including supply chain, case goods and retail.<br />&bull; Develops a comprehensive internal branding platform to drive consistency across communication channels.<br />&bull; Partners with appropriate team members to ensure voice and tone of all communications is in alignment with brand messaging and image.<br />&bull; Manages timetable for communications, communication channels and supports change management initiatives.<br />&bull; Leads the planning and execution of the quarterly all-employee business updates.<br />&bull; Serves as main point of contact for functional leads to identify, prioritize and develop high-impact communications plans and tactics.<br />&bull; Leads the communications of key corporate news to keep other divisions informed.<br />&bull; Secures and manages external agency partners to drive creative execution and program implementation, when appropriate.<br />&bull; Provides internal communication advice and counsel to executive leadership and senior management and develops materials, when appropriate.<br />&bull; Supports key corporate events with internal/external communications to achieve objectives.<br />&bull; Implements strategies and metrics to measure / monitor communications plans to determine effectiveness.<br />&bull; Manages all projects within a defined budget.<br />&bull; Works with senior management team on corporate announcements, keeping all information in the strictest of confidence.<br /><br /><strong>SCOPE &amp; IMPACT:</strong><br />Support company culture, employee engagement and information for more than 10,000 employees.
Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:<br />&bull; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in communications or related field with at least 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent.<br />&bull; Three (3) to five (5) years of Supervisor/Leadership experience.<br />&bull; Experience in corporate / internal communications.<br />&bull; Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously for different audiences.<br />&bull; Knowledge of corporate communications best practices.<br />&bull; Passion for driving connections between employees and leadership.<br />&bull; Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully work with various audiences, personalities, and experience levels.<br />&bull; Proactive, self-starter with previous work experience in fast-paced environment with proven ability to execute on-deadline, and on-quality.<br />&bull; Able to complete work of a confidential nature.<br />&bull; Computer proficiency and experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.<br />&bull; Expert and concise, creative writing skills.<br />&bull; Up to 20% Travel.<br /><br /><strong>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS</strong>:<br />&bull; Master&rsquo;s degree<br /><br /><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong>&nbsp;up to 1<br /><br /><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:</strong><br />Office environment / no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.<br /><br /><strong>CORE ATTRIBUTES:</strong><br />Communicate Transparently<br />Lead the Team<br />Impact and Influence<br />Deliver Results<br />Coach and Develop<br /><br />At La-Z-Boy, we are committed to fostering an environment in which all employees feel valued, included, and empowered to do their best work and bring great ideas to the table.
