Responsibilities: <ul><li>This position will work closely with management to define, implement, and drive execution of key strategic initiatives to enable the La-Z-Boy supply chain area to operate effectively and efficiently</li><li>Meet goals for raw materials and product availability across the company\u2019s US and Mexico plant operations.</li><li>Logistic expense goals are planned, organized and executed to AOP expectations.</li><li>Ongoing comparison of worldwide supply chain costs, logistic and distribution network design and best in class to identify next improvement opportunities.</li><li>Network with other companies and professional associations to identify successful approaches that can be implemented here.</li><li>Provide management control and oversight to freight partners worldwide to meet customer service needs at lowest total cost.</li><li>Investigate and implement information technology and automation to supply chain as appropriate to improve customer service and/or reduce cost.</li><li>Provide analysis and recommendations for established long-term freight forwarder strategy along with sister divisions.</li><li>Determine proper channel strategy to achieve best landed freight cost while not negatively impacting service.</li><li>Along with the VP Supply Chain, assess areas for operational improvement and develop strategies, metrics and initiatives to ensure LZB logistics resources are utilized most effectively in the implementation of supply chain projects to deliver successful results</li><li>Working with carriers and LZB fleet to assure that all freight is effectively managed and that internal and external customer needs are met in the most cost effective manner.</li><li>Develop and maintain carrier contracts and relationships assuring ample resources are available to meet LZB\u2019s freight needs.</li><li>Work closely with functional business leadership within Operations to identify and propose opportunities for dramatically improving core business process performance.</li><li>Assist in the continued development of LZB\u2019s channel strategies for global sourcing and finished goods distribution through LZB\u2019s regional distribution network.</li><li>Lead the effort and implementation of new technology to more effectively manager inbound, interplant and outbound transportation management.</li><li>Oversee the freight audit and payment process for all logistics outside service providers.</li><li>Work with La-Z-Boy Transportation in effective planning and utilization of the company\u2019s private fleet operations.</li><li>Develop and document policies and procedures which will contribute to implementation of best practices in supply chain functional areas</li><li>Ability to develop and mentor people and build a strong team</li></ul>SCOPE & IMPACT:
Requirements: <p><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant experience including 5+ years of supervisory/leadership experience.</li> <li>15+ years in leading a transportation/logistics network with at least 5 years directly leading global supply chain networks</li> <li>Demonstrated experience managing import/export compliance</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop talent</li> <li>Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written; Ability to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization from Senior Leadership to Shop Floor Operations</li> <li>Knowledge of DOT regulations &nbsp;</li> <li>Experience working in a global business utilizing ERP, Visibility, YMS and TMS platforms</li> <li>Experience in performing network analysis to determine where distribution center should be located given service, cost and capacity objectives</li> <li>&nbsp;Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)</li> <li>Graduate Degree and professional certifications a plus</li> <li>Knowledge of freight rating systems that will be the foundation of the TMS.</li> <li>Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma, problem solving, value stream mapping, international business and global sourcing, business process reengineering.</li> <li>Travel required: 20%</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:</strong>&nbsp;</p> <p>&middot;Experience with Transportation Management software</p> <p>&middot;Experience with Materials and Procurement for manufacturing</p>
