Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Interpret and apply information such as claims utilization, medical trends, case management and legislative changes to recommend and implement benefit and administrative process changes that control cost, comply with legal regulations and are in alignment with the Company&rsquo;s Guiding Principles.</li> <li>Assists with creation of and implements an engaging multi-channel education and communication strategy for benefit plans that meets the diverse needs of employees and their families and HR partners.</li> <li>Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. and Canadian legal requirements, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), ERISA, HIPAA, ARPA, COBRA and managing audits, both internal and external for Benefits Health and Welfare, Retirement, Wellbeing and Leave plans.</li> <li>Manage relationships with insurance providers, third-party administrators, and other vendors; coordinate contract administration with legal and risk staff; assist in developing and evaluating request for proposals, contracts, and service agreements.</li> <li>Provide direction to team members and coordinate with insurance providers and third-party administrators in the daily administration of employee benefits including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life, disability and flex-spending accounts, COBRA, and retirement programs.</li> <li>Coordinate the compilation of benefit information and reporting needed to administer the benefit plans.</li> <li>Coordinates and ensures all benefit documents including Summary Plan Descriptions, booklets, and other communications are up to date including benefits information on HR Portal and intranet.</li> <li>Plan, organize and supervise the annual open enrollment process; develop and review open enrollment materials; supervise the publishing and distribution of enrollment materials; develop and monitor the open enrollment process. Supervise and coordinate the implementation of benefit enrollment changes through Workday, the Benefits Administration system.</li> <li>Ensures that benefit plan procedures are current and identify opportunities for process improvement.&nbsp;</li> <li>Completes special projects by collaborating with other areas of HR, to include Compensation, IT, Payroll.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>SCOPE &amp; IMPACT:&nbsp;</p> <p>This position has the ability to make independent decisions relative to the daily operations affecting the La-Z-Boy North America Health &amp; Welfare, Retirement, Wellbeing and Leave benefit plans. &nbsp;The plans cover approximately 6,000 active employees and have an annual spend of $55 million for health and welfare and a retirement plan with more than $300 million in assets.&nbsp; Decisions which have a broad impact on the organization require authorization by the manager of this position.</p>
