Overview: The Assistant Treasurer provides overall ownership to all aspects of treasury and risk management, including management of corporate cash and investments, hedging (future) and financing activities and all bank relationships. Manage all aspects of corporate insurance programs, including property and casualty, directors' and officers', fiduciary liability and cyber liability insurance. Recommends strategic direction of the Treasury function to executive leadership and execute approved strategies.<br /><br /><strong><br /><br /></strong>
Responsibilities: <br />&bull; Manage relationship with insurance brokers for provision of appropriate insurance coverage (property, casualty, directors&rsquo; and officers&rsquo;, fiduciary liability, cyber liability, and other). Work with other departments in managing and reducing insured risks. Manage claim activity as necessary.<br />&bull; Manage corporate cash and liquidity to ensure that adequate funds are available for day-to-day needs, and for longer term investments. Manage relationships with bankers to provide appropriate access to banking services and debt facilities. Arrange financing for long-life corporate assets (e. g., computer equipment, tractors and trailers). Recommending strategic direction to executive team and execute approved strategies. <br />&bull; Manage La-Z-Boy&rsquo;s investments and investment managers for the Company&rsquo;s 401k plan, non-qualifying executive and deferred compensation plans and other strategic cash investments. Work with La-Z-Boy&rsquo;s Corporate Benefits Committee to oversee all fiduciary aspects of the Company&rsquo;s benefit programs. Seek ways to reduce the Company&rsquo;s risk regarding benefit plans while maximizing the returns on investments. <br />&bull; Manage and administer corporate bank accounts, including setting up new accounts as needed, monitoring and reporting on on-line access to accounts by La-Z-Boy employees, and overseeing and/or maintaining access privileges in accordance with La-Z-Boy's compliance and security policies. <br />&bull; Manage up to one employee relative to bank account maintenance, cash management, insurance maintenance, hedging, and other Treasury activities.<br />&bull; Manage other aspects of Treasury, including, but not limited to:<br />&bull; Coordination with internal and external auditors as necessary to monitor compliance with SOX and La-Z-Boy's internal controls<br />&bull; Management of corporate secured debt program, including computation and payment of monthly interest, maintenance of letters of credit and annual audits by the bank<br />&bull; Manage La-Z-Boy&rsquo;s currency exposure through on-going hedging activities and evaluation of new exposures. Recommending strategic changes to the executive leadership team, oversee and execute implementation of hedging policies. Work with banks to provide adequate access to hedging instruments.<br />&bull; Manage, evaluate and execute changes to La-Z-Boy capital structure based on direction from executive leadership. Oversee on-going share repurchase program.<br /><br /><strong>SCOPE &amp; IMPACT:</strong> <br />This position directly manages relationships with four banks, including over 30 accounts with balances exceeding $30 million, plus 5-10 additional short-term investment accounts with balances exceeding $70 million. Hedging transactions could be around $1.0 to $1.5 million each month. Insurance policies managed involve premiums of over $4.0 million. <br />The responsibilities of this position extend to and have some impact on all La-Z-Boy operating divisions. The decisions or recommendations<br />made by this position can impact corporate interest income and expense, the cost of insurance coverage's or claims, the impact of foreign<br />exchange movements on La-Z-Boy expenses as well as other financial statement items. Manages up to 1 direct report.
