Overview: Work directly with Project Managers and team designers to develop project Showroom Construction and other related drawings for La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries, Comfort studio, General Dealer and other miscellaneous projects using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software in accordance with La-Z-Boy quality and display standards and specific project scope while demonstrating proficiency and speed. Act as a contributing force in suggesting, finding and implementing new technical equipment and procedural standards that will improve speed and quality of work within the Store Merchandising Architectural Auto-CAD processes and across the various Store Merchandising disciplines.<br/><br/>
Responsibilities: <strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):</strong><br />&bull; Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to Execute a high volume of project drawing development while maintaining design quality<br />&bull; Develop and maintain Store Merchandising prototype drawings sets, related checklists, procedural and standards documents as directed by Director, Store Merchandising and other department personnel<br />&bull; Assist in the review and processing of submitting as part of the construction administration phase of a project.<br />&bull; Review, develop and implement Store Merchandising configuration customization's (hatch, plot, custom toolbars, plot styles, etc.) based on need to implementation new Auto-CAD Releases and other related CAD tools<br />&bull; Responsible for overseeing technical aspects of Auto-CAD related to Store Merchandising use as well as for conducting research on new Auto-CAD releases, tools and techniques to determine implementation benefits to team<br />&bull; Evaluate current processes, hardware, software to identify opportunities; research and develop alternatives and determine implementation benefits to team and La-Z-Boy<br />&bull; Troubleshoot and research technology related problems; field questions prior to escalating to La-Z-Boy IT dept. or other external partners as needed<br />&bull; Perform file management duties for the history, back-up and active project documents in an orderly and consistent manner per team standards<br /><br /><strong>SCOPE &amp; IMPACT:</strong><br />Provides key project deliverables to relevant internal and external parties related to Scope of Work for each project. The responsibilities and degree of difficulty related to the preceding increases with competency, experience and time in position.<br />The results of these projects may have impact on project cost requiring keen detail to project details due to the financial implications of missed sales to both dealers and La-Z-Boy if deadlines are missed, errors made. Completion thereof supports company and dealer growth and sales initiatives.
Requirements: <strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br />&bull; Associate&rsquo;s Degree in Architectural drafting and construction principles or related field with 4-6 years of experience including 1-3 years of supervisory/leadership experience or equivalent<br />&bull; Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD 2017 or newer<br />&bull; Strong knowledge of Architectural drafting, building construction and design<br />&bull; Knowledge of commonly-used architectural CAD concepts, practices and procedures<br />&bull; Proficiency in modeling, rendering, and graphic software preferred, including Sketch up, Studio Max, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop), Autodesk, etc.<br />&bull; Ability to communicate - through written, verbal, or graphic means - project-specific concepts and technical information.<br />&bull; Ability to work on projects of any size and/or complexity<br />&bull; Strong attention to detail<br />&bull; Able to prioritize and meet deadlines<br />&bull; Strong leadership and organizational skills<br />&bull; Creative thinker<br />&bull; Ability to make independent judgments<br />&bull; Field experience in architectural and/or construction a plus<br />&bull; Team oriented<br />&bull; Proficient in basic Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)<br /><br /><strong>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br />&bull; Project Management experience<br />&bull; Software experience in Autodesk REVIT, 3D Studio, Adobe Photoshop and/or SketchUp 3D Design<br /><br /><br /><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong>&nbsp;None.<br /><br /><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:</strong><br />Office environment/no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.<br /><br /><strong>CORE ATTRIBUTES:</strong><br />Communicate Transparently<br />Lead the Team<br />Impact and Influence<br />Deliver Results<br />Coach and Develop<br /><br /><strong>OTHER DUTIES:</strong>&nbsp;Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the incumbent for this job.
