Overview: <p>Develops finalized specifications standards and construction documents using architectural base plan for execution of new LZB stores and remodel projects. In preparation for Grand Opening (re-opening), works as part of a 2-3 person team performing the visual set of new and remodeled stores according to La-Z-Boy standards. Gains initial understanding of 1-2 areas of specialization via research and training in preparation to be the subject matter expert in the area(s) as responsibilities increase.</p> <p>Provides a key support role related to the Store Merchandising deliverables for the opening of new LZB stores and remodel projects while learning to execute the development of construction documents using architectural base plan for LZB stores and remodel projects. Builds skills related to research and development of store models and programs. Assists with the organization of data, files and tools used in project execution.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <UL><LI>Develops store drawings as assigned based on Scope of Work for individual project and LZB standards as well as performing drawing checks for standards adherence, quality and accuracy implementing corrections and revisions as necessary.</LI><LI>Performs duties related to on-site visual display set for new, remodeled or updated LZB stores in preparation for Grand Opening (re-opening)culminating with project close out process execution to identify compliance with standards or corrective action needed. This also includes the High Point market showroom set up.</LI><LI>Works with senior team members on current prototype(s) and store concepts. Under leadership supervision, may participate in conducting research and developing proposals that allow the team to stay abreast of key materials, trends, suppliers, etc. that provide value to the LZB store concepts.</LI><LI>Assists senior team members and project managers with tasks related to the upkeep of project data, files and key tools; and in project close out tasks.</LI><LI>Works with senior team member on assignments related to the development of new store concepts and displays (based on project scope) as well as special programs designed to support the consumer experience and maximize productivity to to gain knowledge related to those areas and the connection to the consumer and/or company strategic direction</LI><LI>Applies project and time management practices to assure timely completion of required tasks. This is in preparation to take on the Sr. Designer role for projects for which they will assure completion of others tasks and proper execution of LZB store projects.</LI></UL> SCOPE & IMPACT:Provides key project deliverables to relevant internal and external parties related to Scope of Work for each project. The responsibilities and degree of difficulty related to the preceding increases with competency, experience and time in position.The results of these projects may have impact on project cost requiring keen detail to project details due to the financial implications of missed sales to both dealers and LZB if deadlines are missed, errors made. Completion thereof supports company and dealer growth and sales initiatives.
Requirements: <h3><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Design or related field with 0-2</li> <li>AutoCAD</li> <li>Project Management Experience</li> <li>Travel required: up to 15%</li> </ul> <h3><strong>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Microsoft Project</li> <li>NCIDQ Certification</li> <li>3D Rendering (Sketchup, 3D Studio, Revit or other)</li> <li>Photoshop</li> <li>PMP Certification</li> </ul> <br /><br /><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong> None <br /><br /><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:</strong><br />Operates in a professional office environment.
