Overview: This position is responsible for a wide variety of accounting functions including journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reporting. Additionally, this position is responsible for more complex accounting tasks and variance analysis research within the assigned business unit&rsquo;s financial statements.
Responsibilities: &bull; Prepare and record non-standard journal entries in the general ledger and consolidations systems and complete reconciliations of related balance sheet accounts.<br />&bull; Acts as a primary liaison between Accounting and leadership of various division business units. Regularly meets with leadership to assist in the preparation of the monthly forecast and the annual operating plan.<br />&bull; Researches, analyzes, and resolves complex reconciling items and unreconciled differences identified during the reconciliation process.<br />&bull; Assist the business with analyzing their variances between actual results and forecast each fiscal month. Document and substantiate explanations for these variances for management review. Assist the business with monthly updates to their departmental forecast.<br />&bull; Prepares certain internal management reporting documents. This includes identifying variances to the plan/forecast and communicating explanations for all divisions involved.<br />&bull; Support accurate and timely external reporting.<br />&bull; May perform key functions as the administrator of accounting related systems.<br />&bull; Assists with preparation of data for the quarterly SEC filings and in the gathering of information requested by our internal and external auditors during interim and year-end reviews and SOX audits.<br />&bull; Special projects which may include, identifying and implementing process improvements which drive efficiencies, technical research, and ad hoc financial analysis.<br />&bull; Provides leadership with timely and accurate responses to ad-hoc data requests.<br />&bull; Ensure compliance with key internal controls for areas of responsibility<br />&bull; Regularly communicates to business partners on financial concepts.<br /><br />SCOPE &amp; IMPACT:<br />This position is part of the Accounting department which ultimately is responsible for all externally reported financial statements and results, internally consolidated financial statements and results, and complex accounting concepts which impact the company overall.
