Overview: <strong>IMMEDIATE FULL TIME OPENING</strong><br /><br />BASIC FUNCTION:<br /><br />The basic function of the Service Technician I is to inspect the product, assess concerns and return the product to manufacture specifications.&nbsp;
Responsibilities: <ul><li>Inspect product, assess concerns, and solve problems pertaining to La-Z-Boy product</li><li>Perform basic repair functions on furniture</li><li>Install aftermarket accessories to the product such as handles, bases ,swivels, etc.)</li><li>Ensure that product is customer ready by steaming fabric and checking for any quality concerns</li><li>Communicate with stores if customer’s concerns are a point of sale issue</li><li>Order parts necessary for repair of furniture</li><li>Complete any reports required regarding inspection and follow-up</li><li>Determining if furniture is repairable or if it must be replaced.</li><li>Communicate with corporate quality department regarding any quality issues that need to be addressed at the factory level</li><li>Maintain the service area to 5S standards ( neat, clean and organized)</li><li>Interface with store personnel as required</li><li>Minimal travel</li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High School graduate or trade school with courses in woodworking or comparable experience as apprentice, preferred</li> <li>Experience with general upholstery repair, blind stitch, seam repair, padding, and leather repair, preferred</li> <li>Mechanically inclined</li> <li>Excellent communication and problem solving skills</li> <li>Ability to successfully interface with customers</li> <li>Self-management to demonstrate self-control and the ability to manage time and priorities</li> <li>Must be able and willing to work collaboratively and effectively with the team</li> </ul>
