Interior Hourly + Comission

Overview: <p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION:</strong></p> Designing and creating comfortable and functional environments that represent client&rsquo;s lifestyle, taste and budget. Be a professional Design Consultant through the use of the La-Z-Boy In-Home Design program and drive top-line sales through the use of selling principles including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized portfolio presentations, answering objections, closing, follow-up, after-sale service, and continuing contact with all previous and potential customers. Strive to create long-term relationships that will lead to increased sales and profitability.
Responsibilities: <p><em>I</em><em>n</em><em>-Home Design:</em></p> <ul> <li>Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs, including sample fabrics, furniture, tables and accessory recommendations as well as the benefits of a professional</li> </ul> <p>installation service</p> <ul> <li>Execute and champion the In-Home Design process per company guidelines</li> <li>Responsible for creating grassroots opportunities to increase the overall performance of the In-Home Design Program</li> <li>Accurately complete order information, collect deposits and fees, keep orderly customer records, and research customer payments and deliveries</li> <li>Responsible to support design related functions in the store and maintain an up to date customized portfolio including before and after pictures of previous In-Home design project</li> <li>Considerable independence is required for the In-Home Design process</li> </ul> <p><em>S</em><em>ales Culture and Promotions:</em></p> <ul> <li>Drive sales to consistently achieve established In-Home program sales goal</li> <li>Team with Store Manager, Sales Manager, Sales Lead and selling team to promote the In-Home Design program and drive overall store sales</li> <li>Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs</li> <li>Maintain strong knowledge of features and benefits of existing and new product line</li> <li>Meet established goals as set by management</li> </ul> <p><em>C</em><em>ustomer Experience Excellence:</em></p> <ul> <li>Meet and greet customers that come into the store</li> <li>Ensure that each La-Z-Boy customer has an informative and positive experience by using good customer service skills and knowledge of products</li> <li>Make sound business decisions to deliver customer satisfaction and promote team environment</li> </ul> <p><em>P</em><em>eople Development</em></p> <ul> <li>Train, coach and develop Design Associates on product knowledge and selling skills to achieve store sales goals</li> <li>Assist with training, coaching and developing the selling team</li> <li>Create a positive and exciting working environment for all store associates</li> <li>Hiring and developing talent, and succession planning, and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent</li> <li>Utilizes Company resources to keep associates up to date on product knowledge, selling skills and operational efficiencies</li> <li>Leads with the highest ethical standards and demands the same from their teams</li> <li>Ensures associates are provided the necessary tools to perform job responsibilities</li> <li>Coach and counsel team based on results</li> <li>Maintain a positive working relationship with all store associates</li> </ul> <h3><em>S</em><em>tore Standards / Operations:</em></h3> <h3>Effective manager on Duty (MOD)</h3> <ul> <li>Assist with maintenance of the overall visual appearance of store, this includes but is not limited to assist to maintain floor and/or showroom displays, tagging of products and accessories, maintaining accessory catalogs and design center fabrics, and maintaining general store cleanline</li> <li>Adhere to general store operational procedures and guidelines</li> <li>May be responsible for opening and closing of the store</li> <li>Champion and role model the La-Z-Boy selling process (Comfort Process) by overseeing the interaction with each and every client within the furniture gallery</li> <li>Know what is happening on the floor at all ti Be willing and able to jump into every sale and close it.</li> <li>Show a sense of urgency, enthusiasm and excitement with the staff and customers</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h3>&nbsp;</h3>
Requirements: <strong>MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Interior Design with one (1) to two (2) years&rsquo; experience strongly preferred or a minimum of five (5) years design experience in a comparable home furnishings role</li> <li>CIDA accreditation and/or ASID membership preferred</li> <li>Previous selling experience strongly preferred</li> <li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint</li> <li>CAD training a plus</li> <li>Experience in using floor and space planning applications</li> <li>Knowledgeable of general principles of home d&eacute;cor and design (i.e., furniture, carpet, draperies, and color schemes.)</li> <li>Excellent communication skills, customer service skills, and organizational skills</li> <li>Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and build rapport</li> <li>Ability to effectively manage time and conflicting priorities</li> <li>Ability to work effectively and productively with others as a team</li> <li>Ability to work the schedule and hours dictated by business needs, to include evenings, weekends and holidays</li> <li>Initiative to meet assigned goals, missions and objectives</li> <li>Strong attention to detail</li> </ul> <br /><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong> Responsible for directly leading a team of Design Associates and indirectly the selling team.
