Overview: Responsible for direct supervision/leadership of the wood pick, wood prep, metal-up, base assembly employees and productivity of their area. Make sure that we produce the highest quality product and to do it efficiently and at the most economical cost possible to our customers.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Keep track of efficiency levels for wood pick, metal-up, and wood prep area.</li> <li>Responsible for supervision of employees with respect to safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement</li> <li>Keep the budget maintained for departments / finances</li> <li>Consistently apply all policies and procedures</li> <li>Conduct quality audits</li> <li>Conduct batch audits</li> <li>Maintain 5s processes</li> <li>Responsible for developing and leading lean manufacturing best practices</li> <li>Build teams and teamwork through mutual respect and accountability</li> <li>Analyze both quality and process, using PDCA to make improvements</li> <li>Track the accountabilities of work done within the department</li> <li>Meet daily goals</li> <li>Report Out Boards kept up-to-date and organized</li> <li>Work closely with HR to ensure teams are properly trained and manned</li> <li>Coaches and leads all assigned employees to their full potential</li> <li>Support the vision, mission and values of La-Z-Boy Manufacturing</li> <li>Other duties as assigned</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or education and/or work experience preferred</li> <li>3-5 manufacturing experience</li> <li>&middot; Prior Supervisory, Lead-person experience</li> <li>&middot; Manufacturing experience a must</li> <li>&middot; Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel</li> <li>&middot; Exceptional leadership/coaching qualities/skills</li> <li>&middot; Strong communication skills, both verbal and written</li> <li>Self-Motivated and driven for success</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills</li> <li>Able to meet and exceed goals in a timely manner</li> <li>Excellent attendance record</li> <li>Exceptional work ethics, honesty and integrity</li> <li>Meet physical requirements of position</li> <li>Safety conscious and 5&rsquo;S knowledge</li> <li>Specialized training in Leadership/Supervision (LZB University) or off site training/seminars</li> <li>Experience with Shop Floor Tracking software or similar manufacturing production tracking system</li> <li>Accountable to all other members of the team being coached as well as peers</li> <li>Excellent time management skills</li> </ul> <br />SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May have up to 30 direct reports.
