Overview: The Accountant I works under the supervision of the Assistant Controller and is responsible for maintaining assigned financial records and related financial reporting. As such, this position requires the ability to analyze data, apply basic accounting principles, and utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in the use of computers and accounting software is highly beneficial.
Responsibilities: <ul><li>Daily reconciliation of all Inventory In-transit and related freight GL accounts</li><li>Reconcile Intercompany Inventory Transfers and create associated end of month journal entries</li><li>Responsible for Casegoods Miscellaneous Inventory end of month journal entry</li><li>Responsible for Upholstery Raw Materials Inventory end of month journal entry</li><li>Research Casegoods Inventory and PPV account variances</li><li>Research Upholstery Raw Materials Inventory variances</li><li>Perform end of month general ledger account reconciliations</li><li>Prepare Upholstery Cost Model worksheets for new product</li><li>Create purchase orders in the E1 System as needed</li><li>Assist with information collection for yearend standard cost roll</li><li>Assist with the development of AOP depreciation projections</li><li>Assist with the development of factory admin cost centers AOP expense projections</li><li>Assists the VP of Finance and Assistant Controller with SOX and Flow Charting when necessary updates are required</li><li>Travel to Taylorsville, High Point, Granite Falls, and Hudson facilities to assist with physical inventories as needed</li><li>Assigned special projects and assignments throughout the department</li></ul>
Requirements: <h3><strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>Associates Degree in Accounting</li> <li>3-5 years of total work-related experience required to effectively perform the key responsibilities of the job</li> <li>Ability to travel to other La-Z-Boy facilities as needed</li> </ul> <h3><strong>PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:</strong></h3> <ul> <li>&nbsp;Proficient in E1 (JD Edwards) and Spreadsheet Server application</li> <li>&nbsp;Proficient in Excel including vlookups and pivot tables</li> <li>&nbsp;Proficient in QuickBooks point of sale or other accounting software equivalent</li> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Accounting</li> </ul>
