Responsibilities: &bull; Manage the development, implementation, and consistency of process control tools/techniques across critical stakeholder functions &bull; Collects and validates data of top failures and defects through Cost of Failure (COF) initiatives at both division and plant levels &bull; Collaborates with the research and development to help facilitate the successful execution of the NPD process and launching of robust products. Provide expertise in the areas of Quality Assurance, Design Controls, Risk Management, and Statistical Techniques. &bull; Leads and promotes the continuous improvement process &bull; Leads root cause analysis and problem solving efforts in functional areas &bull; Analyzes customer product satisfaction feedback and identifies and leads projects to drive improvements &bull; Identifies/implements engineering fixes for routine manufacturing/QC for continuous process/equipment improvement, and supports implementation of strategy with cross-functional alignment &bull; Functions as quality technical lead for product development teams and/or process improvement projects &bull; Train peers and managers in basic quality tools and their application &bull; Planning and executing product, process, and quality system audits &bull; Manages projects as directed by supervisor SCOPE &amp; IMPACT: Ensures that quality processes and procedures are documented and are being adhered to from design and development to manufacturing and delivery with the goal of shipping defect free products to customers. Responsible for monitoring internal and external concerns and quickly reacting to resolve them to minimize the impact to the customers and La-Z-Boy's expenditures and brand reputation.&nbsp;
Requirements: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: &bull; Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline with 6-8 years of relevant work experience or equivalent &bull; Six Sigma Green certification &bull; Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook). &bull; Strong organization, presentation and communication skills &bull; Subject Mater Expert in applying PFMEA's, Control Plans, Work Instructions, Process Flow Diagrams, Capability Studies, Advance Problem Solving/Decision Making, and Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping &bull; Up to 30% travel PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: &bull; Black Belt certification &bull; Full understanding with AQP/APQP, ISO 9000, and or QS 9000 and auditing those systems &bull; Experience as a lead quality auditor &bull; ASQ CQE/CQA certification SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Often required to sit, repetitive hand motion (such as typing), hear, listen, talk, stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb stairs, crawl reach overhead push/pull and lift up to 30 pounds. Seldom required to Climb ladders, kneel, squat, crouch, balance or lift up over 50 pounds.
