Overview: Teaches/coaches individuals and groups and coordinates production activities of the Poly Department in a lean manufacturing environment by performing the following duties.<br/><br/>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Examines cut parts for conformance to files.</li> <li>Studies production schedules and estimates employee hour requirements for completion of job assignment.</li> <li>Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations.</li> <li>Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.</li> <li>Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.</li> <li>Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department.</li> <li>Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems.</li> <li>Initiates or suggests plans to motivate employees to achieve work goals.</li> <li>Maintains time and production records.</li> <li>Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.</li> <li>Performs activities of employees supervised.</li> <li>Control NPE</li> <li>Continually monitor quality and do daily audits to insure proper procedures are being followed.</li> <li>Maintain housekeeping, conform to 5S program.</li> <li>Control new style Verifications, Validations &amp; Markets.</li> <li>Willing to conform to ISO and maintain area accordingly.</li> <li>Handle all purchase requisitions for Poly department.</li> <li>Order all Saw blades, cables etc. for all Poly saws.</li> <li>Handle all Non-Conforming Material ( Vendor &amp; in House )</li> <li>Do quality audits daily.</li> <li>Order Poly &amp; Fiber trucks as needed.</li> <li>Handle all Scrap paper work and turn I promptly.</li> <li>Ensure all Fiber inventories are turned in as assigned.</li> <li>Ensure all weekly Poly bun inventories are turned in as assigned.</li> <li>Poly Yield Improvement Action Items required.</li> <li>Assist Poly Programmer/.Scheduler as needed.</li> <li>Ensure all E1 requirements are met daily, weekly, and monthly.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>SCOPE &amp; IMPACT:</strong> <br />To give clear vision, direction, and assistance to employees in manufacturing and assembly for customer delivery. Directs a group of employees producing an average of 2.5 million board feet of poly annually.
Requirements: <strong>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</strong><br /><br /><strong>Education/Experience:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience</li> </ul> <strong>Math Ability:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.</li> </ul> <strong>Reasoning Ability:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.</li> </ul> <strong>Computer Skills:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>To perform this job successfully, an individual should have operational knowledge of essential computer programs, which included Microsoft Office Word and Excel, Kronos and E-1.</li> </ul> <strong>Language Ability:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.</li> </ul> <strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>Supervises multiple teams in the Poly Dept., typically a group of 30 - 35 employees.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:</strong><br /> <ul> <li>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
