Overview: <p>The Senior Hosting Architect will be responsible for installing, operating and maintaining a heterogeneous environment consisting of servers running Windows, Linux, and VMware ESXi. Windows systems to be designed and administered include and Windows Server 2008 through 2016 within a hybrid cloud environment.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Design for Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 and related Active Directory infrastructure.</li> <li>Install, configure and manage VMware vSphere 6.5 environment.</li> <li>Configure VMware Distributed Resource Scheduling, high availability and fault tolerance.</li> <li>Install, configure and manage virtual hosts within the cloud.</li> <li>Maintain accurate documentation for all relevant support-related processes and procedures including, but not limited to, updating systems and application technical standards, installation notes, and support procedures.</li> <li>Operate and maintain all integrated systems to support mission operations.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned by supervisor.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Minimum of seven to ten years of previous Windows, Linux and VMware system administration, trouble‐shooting and design experience in a datacenter environment that includes on‐prem and collocated hosting services.</li> </ul> <p><strong>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OR REGISTRATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>VM Ware Windows certification (VCP6.5‐DCV) or cloud platform and infrastructure Linux certifications (RHCE), MCSE: Core Infrastructure and MCA: Azure Administrator preferred.</li> </ul> <p><strong>REQUIRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong understanding of Active Directory, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).</li> <li>Proven track record of successful enterprise server migrations/consolidations/upgrades.</li> <li>Ability to analyze and automate existing processes and implement an automation framework.</li> <li>Expert knowledge of MS Azure, VMWare VCP or VCA certification for VMWare 5 and/or 6.</li> <li>This is position provides Level 2 &amp; 3 support, for a 24 x 7 production environment, for all operational and outage issues relating to the infrastructure. Must be able to work overtime/outside of normal schedule to restore technical infrastructure to full functionality in the event of an unplanned outage.</li> <li>Required to have previously installed, configured, operated and maintained hardware and software that uses the Windows operating system within a VMware ESXi production environment.</li> <li>Demonstrates Windows server troubleshooting skills in an internetworked Enterprise environment.</li> <li>Experienced with hardening operating systems.</li> <li>Experience working on a modern virtualized network.</li> <li>Strong communication skills, written and spoken.</li> <li>Detail‐oriented, producing consistently accurate work.</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with RedHat Linux or UNIX desired Experience with methodologies such as agile and ITIL desired.</li> <li>Public cloud hosting experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Demands:</strong></p> <p>Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen and small numbers.</p>
