Overview: Loureiro Engineering Associates is looking for a Yard Supervisor to add to our Connecticut team.<br /><br />The Yard Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the contractor/construction yard. This role includes managing inventory, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, coordinating with suppliers and Project Managers, and maintaining the overall organization and efficiency of the yard. Responsibilities: <ol> <li><strong>Inventory Management</strong> <ul> <li>Maintain accurate records of all materials and equipment.</li> <li>Conduct regular inventory audits.</li> <li>Order and receive materials and supply as needed.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Safety Compliance</strong> <ul> <li>Ensure that all yard activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.</li> <li>Conduct regular safety inspections.</li> <li>Maintain a clean and organized yard to prevent accidents.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Operational Efficiency</strong> <ul> <li>Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to fulfill material and equipment needs.</li> <li>Schedule and manage the maintenance and repair of equipment, including implementation of a red tag process.</li> <li>Optimize yard layout for efficient workflow, operations divisional security, and space utilization.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Vendor and Contractor Coordination</strong> <ul> <li>Liaise with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery and return of materials.</li> <li>Manage relationships with contractors and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.</li> <li>Resolve any issues or discrepancies with deliveries or services.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Record Keeping and Reporting</strong> <ul> <li>Maintain detailed records of all yard activities, including inventory, maintenance, and safety reports.</li> <li>Prepare and submit regular reports to the Operations Manager.</li> <li>Implement and monitor yard policies and procedures.</li> </ul> </li> </ol>
Requirements: <ul> <li><strong>Education:</strong>&nbsp;High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in construction management is preferred.</li> <li><strong>Experience:</strong>&nbsp;Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction, logistics, or a related field. Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable.</li> <li><strong>Skills:</strong> <ul> <li>Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Proficiency in inventory management software and basic computer skills.</li> <li>Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.</li> <li>Understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements.</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <br /><br /><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong> <ul> <li>Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).</li> <li>Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.</li> <li>Physical stamina to stand and walk for long periods.</li> </ul> <br /> <div>Loureiro Engineering Associates, Inc.
