With backing from prominent investors, we're poised to revolutionize the Canadian airline industry.</p> <p>Join our team and be part of the changing skies of Canadian aviation!</p> <p><u><strong>WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS:</strong></u></p> <p>Reporting to the CEO, the Director, P&amp;C will play a vital role as a member of the executive leadership team and leader of a small team of passionate and talented HR professionals. You will be responsible for all human resources functions, including organisation design and effectiveness, diversity and inclusion, leadership development, employee engagement, cultural alignment, talent acquisition and retention, learning and development, business partnering, talent and performance management, succession planning, compensation and benefits, health and wellbeing, people systems, policies and processes.&nbsp; We are a start-up organisation, just over 10 months old, so we have a small and lean team, but are growing fast! In just 18 months our team has grown from 20 people to 230 and by the end of 2023 our headcount will be around 500. &nbsp;Approximately 75% of our team comprises cabin crew and pilots, working remotely from the office, geographically dispersed and in demanding customer-facing roles, which creates unique leadership challenges. &nbsp;We are looking for someone who is willing to roll their sleeves up and help build the foundation for our ambitious growth plans.</p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Participate as an active member of the Executive Leadership Team and a trusted partner of the CEO.&nbsp; This includes a contribution to the development, communication and delivery of the business strategy and the development of a positive, engaged and customer-focused culture across the organization.</li> <li>Lead &amp; manage all human resource functions under a business partnering service model to provide proactive and responsive support across the business to ensure the business goals are met or exceeded</li> <li>Design and deliver programs for attracting, developing and retaining top talent to support the business&rsquo;s growth plans</li> <li>Provide sound and expert advice to leaders on operational people matters, risks, issues and trends to keep leaders informed and supported, including coaching leaders in employee engagement, and employee relations issues</li> <li>Development and oversight of the company&rsquo;s workplace health and safety program in partnership with the Director of Quality Assurance, Safety and Security</li> <li>Development and implementation of a strong, proactive and engaging internal communication strategy in partnership with the Director of PR &amp; Communications</li> <li>Develop, implement and monitor company policies to ensure compliance with legislative requirements, corporate values and operational needs, including the creation of an employee handbook or portal</li> <li>Develop, support and lead training and development programs and initiatives across the organization</li> <li>Measure and monitor employee engagement and satisfaction and the general health of the company culture.</li> <li>Provide leadership to the People &amp; Culture team by setting clear goals and objectives, assessing performance, providing constructive feedback, and development and coaching to build capability</li> <li>Manage, and advise in respect of, complex labour relations and people issues including grievance management; performance management and improvement; and investigation of misconduct and other disciplinary matters, to build a harmonious and productive working environment</li> <li>Identify, analyze, and review emerging people and culture policy issues and trends, review and interpret relevant areas of research and provide evidence-based and industry best practice recommendations</li> <li>Develop and administer an innovative and progressive compensation model, including salary surveys and market research, to ensure Lynx Air is competitive within its market while staying true to the Ultra-Low Cost airline model</li> <li>Develop and support the annual performance and compensation review process, including short and long-term incentive programs, to ensure the integrity and equity of the process and that all leaders are setting clear and fair goals and objectives for their teams</li> <li>Lead the development and implementation of an engaging &nbsp;and informative onboarding process for all new employees ensuring a clear understanding of Lynx Air&rsquo;s Purpose, Mission and Values</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in an HR director-level capacity, preferably reporting to the CEO</li> <li>Entrepreneurial spirit - Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment and excited by the opportunity to build systems and processes from the ground up</li> <li>Inspirational and energetic leadership and communication skills.&nbsp; A collaborative, non-hierarchical approach, comfortable being &ldquo;hands-on&rdquo; and operational as required</li> <li>A champion for change - recognizing the need for change, being open to new ideas and methods and championing transformational change within the organization and beyond</li> <li>Strong financial capability and commercial acumen, with a focus on cost control and balancing the needs and demands of employees with the goals and objectives of the business</li> <li>Excellent planning, analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to meet multiple deadlines in high-pressure situations</li> <li>Ability to deal with conflict effectively, and to manage difficult situations confidently and calmly; demonstrated ability to coach and counsel at all levels of the business from executive-level management to head office and front-line employees</li> <li>Robust knowledge of HR functions and best practices. &nbsp;Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement</li> <li>Experience in revising or developing new HR policies and procedures to meet changing organizational needs, and to support the desired organizational objectives</li> <li>A successful track record in building an engaged and optimistic customer-focused culture.</li> <li>Success in creating and driving effective employee relations, retention, and reward programs</li> <li>Exemplary integrity - treating others fairly, honestly, and respectfully, furthering the integrity of the organization and its relationships of trust with team members and the broader community</li> <li>Ideally, experience supporting the leadership of a geographically dispersed, customer-facing workforce</li> <li>Post-secondary degree (CPHR considered an asset)</li> <li>Strong knowledge of the Canada Labour Code as it applies to the airline industry</li> </ul> <p><u><strong>WHAT YOU WILL GET FROM US:</strong></u></p> <ul> <li>Industry competitive salary</li> <li>The chance to be part of building something from the ground up.
