If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!</p> <p>We are seeking a Director of Legal to join our rapidly expanding, dynamic team!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><u><strong>WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS:</strong></u></p> <p>This senior leadership position, reporting directly to the CEO (a former lawyer), will play an important role in shaping the future of our rapidly growing organization. As the first in-house corporate counsel, this role will provide pragmatic, business-focused legal advice to all functions of the Lynx Air business, including operations, commercial, people and finance. You will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team and play an important role in the implementation of Lynx Air&rsquo;s strategy.&nbsp;<br /><br /></p> <ul> <li>Industry competitive salary.</li> <li>The chance to be part of building something from the ground up. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Provide legal advice on a range of business issues and transactions including consumer and marketing law; employment law; contractual negotiation and drafting; and regulatory compliance.</li> <li>Review marketing materials and corporate communications to ensure regulatory compliance.</li> <li>Keep up to date with legal developments which impact the business and brief management on these developments.</li> <li>Brief external counsel as required for additional expertise or bandwidth.</li> <li>Participate in executive-level meetings covering business performance, business opportunities, and business strategy and planning.</li> <li>Establish a framework for ensuring regulatory compliance across the business.</li> <li>Establish templates for employment and other frequently used agreements.</li> <li>Develop and draft policies to support legal and regulatory compliance across the business.</li> <li>Educate the business and provide training as required on legal risks and responsibilities.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>A law degree from a recognized university.</li> <li>Must be admitted to a recognized bar.</li> <li>5+ years of experience gained in a large law firm and/or in-house, preferably in a consumer-facing or highly regulated industry.</li> <li>Aviation experience is desirable but not essential.</li> <li>Experience in one or more of the following areas: commercial, corporate, contract, consumer or employment law.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.</li> <li>Strong negotiation and drafting skills.</li> <li>Strong business acumen, and a pragmatic approach to legal issues and advice.</li> <li>Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization and across all businesses.</li> <li>Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
