Responsibilities: <p><strong>What You Will Do:</strong></p> <p>As a member of Investment Management and Strategy, the Quantitative Investment Analyst/Senior Quantitative Investment Analyst&rsquo;s primary role is to develop and implement the quantitative investment strategies underpinning the delivery of superior investment results for more than $40 billion invested in MD&rsquo;s fund family.&nbsp;&nbsp; Using your expertise, industry knowledge and internal training, you will work closely with a team of Portfolio Managers and Investment Analysts in achieving the performance objectives of both internally and externally managed mandates invested in a multi-asset framework.</p> <p>Responsibilities in the MDFM investment management process include:</p> <ul> <li>Research and development of top-down quantitative investment strategies invested across global equities, fixed income, FX and commodities markets</li> <li>Enhancing existing multi-asset alpha and risk models and portfolio construction processes</li> <li>Staying abreast of current academic research as well as general capital market conditions to generate new strategies and actionable investment ideas</li> <li>Providing input and constructively challenging recommendations by the other team members</li> <li>Making investment recommendations to the Portfolio Managers based on quantitative analytics</li> <li>Providing continuous support to Portfolio Managers including performance and risk monitoring and attribution, and day-to-day management of mandates (internally and externally managed)</li> <li>Playing a central role in the maintenance and data integrity of our investment management tools and systems</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What You Need:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A quantitative undergraduate degree (e.g. Math, Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Sciences). An advanced degree in one of these fields would be an asset</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of financial markets experience, ideally as part of a multi-asset investment team</li> <li>Programming expertise in MATLAB, including object-oriented programming. Proficiency in other languages such as Python is valuable</li> <li>Understanding of capital markets and strong knowledge in one or more of these areas: Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and/or Machine Learning</li> <li>Experience in one or more of these areas: global macro, tactical asset allocation, factor research, alternative risk premia, portfolio construction and/or risk management</li> <li>Extensive use of financial software including Bloomberg and Datastream and mutli-asset risk systems</li> <li>Derivatives experience including broad index and sovereign bond futures/options, currency forwards, interest rate and/or total return swaps</li> <li>Researching and developing investment strategies invested in emerging markets and/or foreign exchange markets</li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Advanced math and programming skills</li> <li>Excellent analytical skills and a strong knowledge of finance, accounting, economics, statistics and modern portfolio theory</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work within a team, presenting research and portfolio analysis results to a variety of internal audiences</li> <li>Self-motivated and takes initiative, with high degree of professionalism and integrity</li> </ul> <p><strong>What Success Looks Like:</strong></p> <ul> <li>You are passionate about the MD value proposition.&nbsp;</li> <li>You are constantly learning and honing your skills.</li> <li>You are technology savvy.&nbsp;</li> <li>You embrace teamwork and sharing information.</li> <li>You feel rewarded and recognized in a way that inspires you to do your best work.</li> </ul>
