We need a Senior Civil Engineer to act as Senior Consultant, Green Infrastructure with the passion and expertise to skillfully direct projects and influence people.</p> <p><strong>Who you are</strong></p> <p>You are a thought-leader, strategist, and visionary who is exceptionally talented at environmental engineering consulting. You want to work on unique, impactful projects at a company paving the way for businesses in climate strategy. You are a professional who can independently lead with consistent rigour in producing quality work product and analysis, foster internal collaboration and mentorship, and embrace accountabilities. Responsibilities: <p><strong>What&rsquo;s in it for you</strong></p> <p><em>A chance to educate, identify, inspire, strategize, and equip</em>. You will head up the leadership conversations, the strategy, the execution, and the teams making a difference. You want to work on projects such as:</p> <ul> <li>Consulting with real estate developers that are pioneering development efforts to minimize embodied carbon and work towards carbon neutral developments.</li> <li>Making presentations to conscientious investors and proactive developers in major urban hubs.</li> <li>Designing and implementing resilience strategies such as the one we have created for the YMCA of Greater Toronto, which focuses on helping community centres be more resilient in the face of climate impacts.</li> </ul> <p><strong>How you will make a difference:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Research and strategy</strong>. You will direct technical and policy analysis, strategy development, and implementation.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Policy advice</strong>. You will train executive teams and board members, providing information on significant policy developments.</li> <li><strong>Lead projects</strong>. You will spearhead the end-to-end process for green building certification; enhanced climate-related disclosure projects including LEED and GRESB; and carbon assessment projects including embodied carbon and life cycle assessment.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong>What you bring to our collaborative (virtual) space:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Passion for our purpose</strong>. You are deeply committed to the creation of structures and infrastructure that are low carbon and adhere to high standards of environmental responsibility. You want to empower companies to manage climate risk and benefit from climate opportunity.</li> <li><strong>You have an impressive track record of academic and professional achievement, including:</strong> <ul> <li>A post-secondary degree in engineering or environmental science.&nbsp;</li> <li>Advanced degrees (MASc, MSc, MBA, Ph.D.) and LEED AP or similar designations are assets.&nbsp;</li> <li>7+ years of experience in engineering, including consulting with real estate, government, construction, architecture, and engineering clients.</li> <li>Expertise in the areas of green building certifications, embodied carbon and life cycle assessment (LCA).</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Technical skills</strong>. Your toolkit includes LCA software, Autodesk and Bluebeam Revu, MS Office, and web-based business tools (Slack, Zoom, G-Suite, etc.).&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Project leadership</strong>. You are a strategic thinker with strong Project Management skills, business acumen, and accountability and financial proficiency.
