Overview: Material is seeking a Designer to join the Karma Agency team based in Philadelphia. Designers bring design thinking and top-notch design skills to an active creative studio. They possess conceptual design abilities, strategic insight about the use of design to achieve specific outcomes and promote user experience. Designers at Karma work toward channel fluency across media types. Strong experience building identity systems and elevating the aesthetic of any conceptual approach, from technical B2B to the culture sector. <br /><br />The Karma Agency, now a Material Company, is an independent strategic communications firm headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities: Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Develop conceptual design solutions for all manner of execution, not limited to print, digital, social, video and photography.</li> <li>Collaborate with creative leadership and account team counterparts to refine and advance the right work.</li> <li>Contribute to thoughtful, strategic client presentations and represent the agency with consideration and creativity.</li> <li>Articulate ideas and concepts clearly, offering them proactively, both in writing and in person (this is not everyone&rsquo;s skillset; we require it)</li> <li>Work closely with content writers and business stakeholders, appreciating how content relates to your design work</li> <li>Coordinate efficiently with production art team members, preparing files meticulously for handoffs and maintaining responsibility for the ultimate deliverable through effective collaboration.</li> <li>Provide oversight to creative interns, as assigned, including accompanying them to briefings and shepherding their work through the creative approval process</li> </ul> Characteristics: <ul> <li>An ideas person that can bring strategic insight to every point of influence in the marketing continuum</li> <li>A relationship builder who instills confidence in the work product both internally and for clients</li> <li>An optimistic problem solver, one who finds opportunity in challenge</li> <li>Proactive, demonstrates initiative, and anticipates next steps</li> <li>Team oriented. Requirements: Requirements: <ul> <li>Concepting and superior design execution evidenced by a strong portfolio of prior work and the ability to discuss your role and the purpose of the work</li> <li>3- 5 years of design experience in a creative agency or studio setting</li> <li>Detailed, current knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of other design applications is a plus.</li> <li>A rich book including the following: identity work, long-form print, digital work, some video and at least one multimedia campaign</li> </ul>
