Responsibilities: What does success look like? A successful&nbsp;Enterprise Architect, Business Applications will have mastered the arts of:&nbsp;&nbsp; <ul> <li>Architecture: Realizing a technology landscape that rapidly incorporates new technologies, fosters innovation &amp; modernization, while driving technology consistency &amp; reusability across Material.</li> <li>Collaboration: Established an Architecture Review Board that delivers design connectivity between Business Applications, Digital Workplace and Infrastructure, enabling close partnership with stakeholders to convert business requirements into fully realized people, process &amp; technology solutions.</li> <li>Operations: Maintained (or improved) efficiency, integrity &amp; reliability of Material&rsquo;s Business Applications by proactively identifying, strengthening, or eliminating architectural weaknesses through advocacy &amp; collaboration with IT, Business and Vendor stakeholders.</li> <li>Continuous Improvement: Built sustainable practices to monitor market &amp; industry trends, rapidly evaluating and/or responding to emerging technologies, leading practices and/or innovative solutions that benefit Material&rsquo;s technology landscape.</li> </ul> With a deep understanding of the intersections between Material&rsquo;s ways of working and its technology landscape, the Enterprise Architect will have delivered large scale change by aligning Material&rsquo;s strategic goals, key business stakeholders, and IT technical resources into enterprise-wide initiatives with consistent and transparent processes. Responsibilities Architecture <ul> <li>Bring a wealth of insight &amp; know-howto the design, implementation &amp; operation of Material&rsquo;s&nbsp;Business Applications, incorporating deployed solutions into an all-encompassing Enterprise Architecture across Material.</li> <li>Educate &amp; energize&nbsp;Material IT to better leverage&nbsp;modern&nbsp;capabilities in our core platforms and line of business applications.&nbsp;</li> <li>Drive &amp; facilitatedialog&nbsp;with Architects and IT stakeholders&nbsp;to develop &amp; realize strategies that&nbsp;enhance&nbsp;Business Application technology adoption &amp; integration.&nbsp;</li> <li>Advise &amp; consult product managers/owners on leading practices that will meet Business Applications&rsquo;&nbsp;technical, privacy &amp; security needs in an effective, people-first manner.</li> <li>Determine &amp; prioritizethe right people, processes &amp; technology solutions to deliver the best outcomes for Business Applications, Material&rsquo;s users and ultimately, our clients.</li> <li>Design &amp; deploy well architected, enterprise-grade technology solutions put People First.</li> </ul> Security: <ul> <li>Partner deeplywith Material IT and Security team members to evaluate, implement &amp; run the right process &amp; technology solutions for our&nbsp;Enterprise Architecture.&nbsp;</li> <li>Bring structure to ambiguityby proposing &amp; implementing &ldquo;secure-by-design&rdquo; solutions, while remaining flexible in, and responsive to, the changing needs of our business.&nbsp;</li> <li>Identify &amp; mitigate risks, by taking proactive steps to prevent undesirable outcomes, and striking the right balance between practical and secure solutions.&nbsp;</li> <li>Continuously evolve, by closely tracking&nbsp;security architecture best practices &amp; trends, and proactively making recommendations for improvement within Material.&nbsp;</li> </ul> Collaboration: <ul> <li>Builds consensus on process &amp; system enhancements through strong communication skills, conveying complex concepts clearly &amp; concisely with peers and executive leadership</li> <li>Encourages compliance by Material IT teams with best practices in application architecture to advance integrity, reliability, and security for Business Applications.</li> <li>Improves the likelihood of successful, sustainable change through effective communication skills and continuous feedback that engages all people at all levels across Material.</li> <li>Promotes high quality work by bringing a multidisciplinary skillset to &ldquo;connect the dots&rdquo; with IT service owners, partners, and vendors.</li> <li>Accelerates time-to-value of technology solutions by helping business stakeholders uncover and describe barriers, then co-designing potential solutions to their needs.&nbsp;</li> </ul> Operations: <ul> <li>Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and escalation point for Application Administrators and Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) in shaping the Definition of Done and remediation processes for the ongoing and future projects.</li> <li>Sets direction on application integration approaches, including endpoints, platforms, and business rules required to realize solutions that meet the business needs.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Engages in escalated support issues to contribute towards resolution when architecture issues are identified, context is required, or emergency design decisions are necessary.</li> <li>Takes ownership of introducing new capabilities to the Business Applications team, ensuring effective handover to and responsibility of the BRMs.</li> <li>Stay ahead of emerging technologies &amp; trends, incorporate them into Material IT&rsquo;s roadmap in consultation with peers &amp; leaders.</li> </ul>
Requirements: Requirements Education: <ul> <li>A Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, information technology, business administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.</li> </ul> Functional: <ul> <li>Done it:5-7 years' experience in either solution or enterprise architecture disciplines with an applied understanding of projects delivery methodologies (i.e. waterfall, agile, hybrid).</li> <li>Know it:Good understanding of and ability to discuss cloud architecture and principles of modern platforms including SaaS, PaaS, multi-tiered infrastructure, etc.</li> <li>Show it:Demonstrable experience in converting complex business &amp; security needs into fit-for-purpose, straightforward solutions, with well-managed execution and non-interruptive transition to operations, as well as effective troubleshooting &amp; escalation handling. &nbsp;</li> <li>Do it: Offer guidance on leveraging enterprise application integration technologies as well as common EA topics such as person-based journeys, process orchestration, master data management, analytics, and insights, etc.</li> </ul> <br />Competencies: <ul> <li>A communicator, humble and patient individual working effectively with distributed teams who is equally a mentor and a mentee.</li> <li>An influencer who can communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of business and technology organizations: Senior leads and technical experts.</li> <li>A creative mindset that brings ideas to life by leveraging technologies in new ways that could have high impact in every aspect of operations.</li> <li>A technical leader who is trusted to identify challenges and define how to overcome them.</li> <li>A multi-tasker, working in a fast-paced environment without getting overwhelmed easily.&nbsp;</li> <li>Detail-oriented, always ready to put in the extra effort to deliver polished, well-formed IT solutions for Material.&nbsp;</li> <li>Mindful of the employee experience- articulate, confident &amp; well-spoken in all forms of communication, comfortable to be the voice of our customer to Material IT, and the face of Material IT to our customers.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
