Overview: <strong>Who You Are &amp; What You&rsquo;ll Do</strong> <br />We are seeking a self-starting, diligent, fun, customer-service-oriented Senior Associate to join our Accounting &amp; Finance team. You&rsquo;ll report directly to the Accounting Senior Manager and work with the Senior Vice President on an ad hoc basis. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to play a critical role in Kelton&rsquo;s growth, working across several recently acquired companies to integrate processes, reporting, and systems. You&rsquo;ll be part of a central function, responsible for day-to-day accounting processes and serve as a direct liaison between the Kelton team and its sister companies.&nbsp;In this role you&rsquo;ll be working with those in various areas of these companies, so comfort working with people at all levels is key. This role will require developing deep knowledge of each company, understanding their processes and operations, and seeking opportunities to find consistency across while maintaining what works well. <br />&nbsp;<br /><strong>About Kelton</strong><br />Kelton builds brands from the insight out. Responsibilities: Responsibilities include: <ul> <li>Apply accounting principles when preparing monthly accrual, payroll, and recurring journal entries.</li> <li>Ensure the cost transactions are entered into the system based on project accounting.</li> <li>Preparing monthly reconciliation of balance sheet, research variances and make corrections as needed.</li> <li>Ensure intercompany transactions are timely entered.</li> <li>Exchange intercompany reconciliations with sister companies monthly and ensure discrepancies are identified and corrected.</li> <li>Coordinating and assisting with the month and year end financial statement prepartion, reconciling sub ledger to general ledger</li> <li>Supervising the Accounts Payable cycle making sure the vendors are in compliance with the onboarding process, invoices are properly coded, entered and paid timely.</li> <li>Apply accounting principles and analytical thinking when preparing reporting and analysis of month-end results</li> <li>Reviewing and documenting internal controls and departmental policies; identifying potential process improvements and integration opportunities, and developing a plan for implementation</li> <li>Assisting with annual audits by preparing various schedules and gathering documentation</li> <li>Assisting in the implementation of the new ERP system, Workday.</li> <li>Performing other ad hoc requests as needed&nbsp;</li> </ul>
Requirements: What You&rsquo;ll Bring:&nbsp; <ul> <li>5 + years of accounting work experience required; B.S. in Accounting, Finance or Business is required</li> <li>CPA, audit, and/or professional services industry experience is preferred</li> <li>Strong understanding of accrual basis accounting, and in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, US GAAP required</li> <li>Experience reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing and journal entries</li> <li>Knowledge of the monthly financial statement implications and variance analysis</li> <li>Prior experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems required</li> <li>Advanced Excel skills required</li> <li>Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with a love for efficient solutions</li> <li>Ability to take ownership and initiative, but understanding when to elevate issues</li> <li>Pride in creating quality work product with an attention to how the details affect the larger picture</li> <li>Excellent verbal and written communication; strong ability to work with all levels across the company group in a service capacity</li> <li>Well organized and detail oriented; strong ability to work on multiple projects and workflows simultaneously under tight deadlines</li> <li>Natural curiosity and a thirst for knowledge</li> <li>Passion, a sense of humor, and zest for life!</li> </ul>
