Overview: Material&rsquo;s Brand Experience strategy team is currently seeking a Strategy Director to lead the strategic direction across a portfolio of Fortune 500 clients. The Strategy Director is the tip of the spear for the team&rsquo;s overall thinking, ideation and persuasion. It is the Strategy Director&rsquo;s aspiration to elevate our work for clients through insights, decision support, systems thinking and stimulus for creativity. The client team, in which the Strategy Director plays a leadership role, is a catalyzer for what we call &ldquo;Notorious Creative&rdquo;&mdash;work that makes a material impact on both our client partners&rsquo; business and on society. This is a leadership role within the Material Brand Design group and works directly with Associate Strategy Directors and Senior Strategists to ensure that client engagements are developed and delivered with vision and ambition. The Strategy Director provides mentorship and guidance to Associate Strategy Directors/Senior Strategists and establishes strong partnerships with senior business managers on the agency&rsquo;s largest and most high-potential client relationships. Responsibilities: Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Act as lead strategist on our largest, fastest-growing account pulling together insights and recommendations from multiple disciplines including brand, marketing, digital, performance, social and experience.</li> <li>Lead or participate in strategy development (as assigned) at the highest levels with a clear one-two year vision for the account&mdash;ultimately accountable for the execution of that vision.</li> <li>Work directly with high-level client executives and managers to consistently update and refine strategic approaches to customer and category growth.</li> <li>Lead insights development, coordination with research partners, brand strategy and roadmap development efforts in brand, digital, customer and go-to-market domains.</li> <li>Drive strategic audience definition for targeting, contribute to the digital product strategy across web, app and digital/physical experience design.</li> <li>Synthesize research and data into actionable roadmaps and point-in-time brand/experience performance recommendations.</li> <li>Ensure that the client (or clients) has the appropriate strategy resources in place to succeed&mdash;coordinating with other groups to forecast business growth and business development as a guide for hiring and resourcing.</li> <li>Is a superlative visual and oral communicator with strong deck and in-person presentation skills.</li> <li>Actively participate in business development, devising pitch strategies for new client opportunities and developing organic growth with clients through ongoing consultation.</li> <li>Monitor, coach and provide training in key skills areas including brand positioning/architecture, messaging, research, presentation, brief development, facilitation and others.</li> <li>Ensure team members have the tools they need and the training required to accomplish their mission as a whole.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Experience/Background: 10+ years in brand and digital strategy with proven experience managing and motivating strategy team members.</li> <li>Must demonstrate a history of exceptional strategic work and insights, creative excellence and business development.</li> </ul>
