The Staff Accountant performs basic accounting functions such as ledger/fund maintenance, cost analysis, fund reconciliation, posting, and fiscal control of inventory. Prepares financial reports from standard operating statistics and/or financial data. Investigates and resolves problems related to funds, expenditures, and/or procurement practices. Provides assistance in the development, implementation, and management of fiscal systems and procedures, applying basic concepts, methods, and techniques.<br /><br />We're Maxor and we're building a different kind of pharmacy company. Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness.</li> <li>Monitor revenue and expenses for departmental accounts; ensure expenditure control and compliance with funding and reporting requirements, and standard accounting procedures.</li> <li>Construct routine spreadsheet applications, prepare financial data for input into finance systems, and generate reports; perform calculations which may include interest and depreciation.</li> <li>Coordinate the preparation of regularly scheduled and special billings, costs reports, analyses, studies, inventories, and financial statements for local, state, federal sources.</li> <li>Analyze, reconcile, balance, and maintain accounting records; develop special financial reports.</li> <li>Prepare, review, and process revenue, expense, and related correcting entries and may prepare bank reconciliations of intermediate complexity.</li> <li>Assist in preparing reports that outline the financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present and future operations.</li> <li>Is responsible for compliance with all federal, state, local and corporate and other applicable taxes.</li> <li>Furnish internal reports, revise, and update reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary.</li> <li>Has the responsibility for providing effective financial controls for assigned divisions.</li> <li>Interact with auditors and assists with audits, as appropriate.</li> <li>Keep abreast of company policies and procedures, current developments in accounting and auditing professions, and changes in local, state, and federal laws, as applicable.</li> <li>Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.</li> <li>Comply with Maxor&rsquo;s Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor&rsquo;s Compliance Program.</li> <li>Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.</li> <li>Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.</li> <li>Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.</li> <li>Maintain regular attendance per company policy.</li> <li>Perform other job-related duties as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university required.&nbsp;CPA preferred.<br /><br /><strong>Experience:</strong> Minimum 5-7 years&rsquo; experience in accounting and/or finance required. Preferably, experience in performing client accounting services. Minimum one full year of supervisor experience reviewing the work of others.<br /><br /><strong>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</strong><br /><br /> <ul> <li>Providing ongoing accounting services to several clients, ensuring transactions are accurately booked.</li> <li>Knowledge of accounting principles, methods, and applications.</li> <li>Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and/or projections.</li> <li>Ability to set up and maintain financial accounts and ledgers.</li> <li>Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications.</li> <li>Working knowledge of MS Excel spreadsheet software to quantify and illustrate routine financial reports, statements, and/or projections.</li> <li>Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>WHY CHOOSE A CAREER AT MAXOR?</strong><br /><br />Maxor offers a diverse, progressive culture that supports a temporary work from home model, a &ldquo;dress for your day&rdquo; attire, and a collaborative, team oriented environment.
