Overview: Maxor National Pharmacy Services is now accepting applications for a per diem (PRN) customer service focused Pharmacy Technician to work the day shift within the Cancer Treatment Center of America's Retail Pharmacy in Newnan, GA<br /><br />CTCA/Rx&reg; understands that cancer is a complex disease, and that oncology medications play a key role in fighting it. That&rsquo;s why we make our staff available throughout your cancer journey to handle your pharmacy needs, from your hospital bed to your front door. As the in-house clinic pharmacy at Cancer Treatment Centers of America&reg; (CTCA), CTCA/Rx serves cancer patients across the country, both at the hospital and in their homes&mdash;before, during and after treatment. Our pharmacy is staffed by pharmacists who have comprehensive training in the many facets involved in delivering clinic pharmacy care.
Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This document in no way states or implies that these are<br />the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position):<br /><br />1. Assist pharmacists in providing effective, appropriate, and safe pharmacyservices.<br />2. Provide friendly and cooperative customer service.<br />3. Enter patient data accurately.<br />4. Answer telephones quickly and with courtesy.<br />5. Operate the cash register and ring sales.<br />6. Pull and count medication from shelves accurately according to label generated at time<br />of dispensing for final check by Pharmacist.<br />7. Participate in pharmacy orientation programs, training programs for Pharmacy<br />Technicians, pharmacy staff meetings, in-service educational programs and other<br />committees and functions as required by the facility and pharmacy department.<br />8. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the pharmacy.<br />9. Maintain accurate and complete patient records.<br />10. Assist in inventory control such as auditing receipt of goods, inventorying, stocking,<br />pricing, monitoring usage, and correcting pricing and quantities in the computer.<br />1 1. Remove, pick up, and/or deliver drug orders ifnecessary.<br />12. Inform patients of any notations on prescription bag.<br />13. Inform the pharmacist of any alerts form the pharmacy system, such as contraindications,<br />interactions, and allergies.<br />14. Enter and maintain non-preferred drug requests in the PA system.<br />15. Verify NDC number to pull and count medications form shelves.<br />16. Participate in activities resolving unsafe and unsanitary practices.<br />17. Issue supplies to other pharmacies or departments as needed.<br />18. Pre-pack and document medications accurately as needed.<br />19. Participate in the Performance ImprovementProgram.<br />20. Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.<br />21. Maintains regular attendance according to established policies.<br />22.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.<br />23. Promptly report any allegations of impropriety to the Compliance Department.<br />24. Comply with Maxor's Ethical Business Conduct policy and Maxor's Compliance<br />Program.<br />25. Remain free from exclusion under the OIG and SAMS Medicare/Medicaid lists.<br />26. Complete required training, as assigned, within the established timeframes.<br />27. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
