Full Time

Overview: The Certified Pharmacy Technician processes prescriptions for outpatients and employees, creating labels, entering patient information into the computer system and assisting in the filling of prescriptions for all age groups. This job is also responsible for assisting with the daily distribution of prescriptions to community clinics, maintaining pharmacy records and assisting pharmacists as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
Responsibilities: <ol> <li>Enters patient information and prescription information into the computer for patients/employees of all age groups.</li> <li>Assists patients with prescription needs and provides excellent customer service directly and via the telephone.</li> <li>Assists in filling new prescriptions and processing refill prescriptions; processes prescriptions first in, first out.</li> <li>Tracks prescription orders via pharmacy tracking program to ensure correct delivery information given to patients. Returns medications to stock in a timely manner. Maintains Will &ndash; Call system.</li> <li>Assists in problem solving in matters relating to the pharmacy.</li> <li>Cooperates in maintaining a clean, orderly, safe, and professional environment.</li> <li>Provides technical support of drug distribution services for all outpatients.</li> <li>Processes departmental patient average as determined by productivity standards.</li> <li>Fills and stocks medications and supplies within the department as well as monitors and ensures adequate inventory is maintained in all areas.</li> <li>Ensures medication management processes meet all legal and regulatory requirements. Assists with monthly reporting.</li> <li>Participates in performance improvement (PI) activities which improves patient care.</li> <li>Performs cashier functions and daily cashier reports.</li> <li>Collects pharmacy copays according to determined financial classification and 3rd party eligibility.</li> <li>Performs other related duties as required.</li> </ol>
Requirements: <strong>Required Education and Experience:</strong><br /><br /> <ul> <li>High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.</li> <li>6 months of pharmacy experience in an outpatient or retail setting is preferred</li> </ul> <br /><strong>Knowledge, Skills &amp; Abilities:</strong><br /><br /> <ul> <li>Knowledge of third party insurances and relationship to operations and the other JPS facilities.</li> <li>Knowledge of JPS computer systems.</li> <li>Knowledge of third party coverage.</li> <li>Skill in dealing with irate patients.</li> <li>Skill in basic math required to interpret Physicians instruction(s).</li> <li>Ability to interact with patients/visitors/staff of diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds displaying outstanding customer service.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize work and handle stressful situations.</li> <li>Ability to work cooperatively and independently as law permits requiring minimum supervision with the willingness to work outside of assigned area of responsibility.</li> <li>Ability to remain mentally alert for all aspects of prescriptions processing.</li> <li>Ability to adapt mentally to perform daily activities.</li> <li>Ability to grasp new ideas and concepts quickly in order to follow directions concerning new policies and procedures with handling prescriptions.</li> <li>Ability to read and understand basic medical terminology as used by physicians on prescriptions.</li> <li>Ability to assess situations and suggest alternative solutions to meet the needs of patients.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.</li> </ul> <br /><strong>WHY WORK FOR MAXOR</strong><br /><br />Maxor offers a culture that promotes teamwork and where employees are valued as the Company&rsquo;s best asset.
