Overview: <p>Maxor National Pharmacy Services is seeking a&nbsp;<strong>Specialty &amp; Infusion Pharmacist</strong>&nbsp;for our specialty pharmacy in Amarillo.&nbsp;The Specialty and Infusion Pharmacist specializes on high touch, personalized medication therapies with a focus on patients with the most complex disease states and their challenges and opportunities for complete care of the patient, including managing the complexity of the condition, and all related, necessary therapies. This position works with a range of medications from oral to cutting edge injectables and biologic products. Responsibilities: <ol> <li>Interpret and verify physician orders entered in to the software system by certified pharmacy technicians.</li> <li>Ensure the completion prescription verification as well as order verification before the end of each business day.</li> <li>Interpret and fill infusion and/or parenteral/enteral physician orders in the alternate site setting.</li> <li>Ensure the completion of dispensing calendar(s) each day and schedule date for all future acute deliveries.</li> <li>Ensure the accuracy of all packaging, delivery and/or shipping of medications, supplies and teaching materials to the patient&rsquo;s home according to the guidelines established by Maxor Specialty.</li> <li>Ensure the quality control/storage of the medications prepared within the pharmacy for patient use.</li> <li>Communicate pertinent information to all applicable physicians, providers, customer service, authorizations and marketing in order to keep them informed of current patient orders and/or changes in the patient&rsquo;s care, if required</li> <li>Contact and confer with physicians regarding questions or irregularities on prescriptions.</li> <li>Perform and document clinical monitoring.</li> <li>Assist in managing and maintaining complete and accurate patient records and operating records.</li> <li>Assist in managing referrals and help to troubleshoot case management when needed.</li> <li>Maintain direct and ongoing communication with the patient, patient&rsquo;s caregiver(s) and other applicable professionals involved in any aspect of the patient care if applicable.</li> <li>Supervise certified pharmacy technicians in all routine performance of their daily duties.</li> <li>Provide and over see the accuracy of all patient education, information, counseling, and pharmacy care furnished to Maxor Specialty patients. .</li> <li>Monitor drug therapy for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness.</li> <li>Assist in maintaining operating efficiencies within the department.</li> <li>Have a good understanding and working knowledge of all Maxor Specialty policies and procedures, accreditation requirements and HIPAA operational guidelines.</li> <li>Maintain inventory and records of controlled drugs and other drugs as required by law or Maxor.</li> <li>Participate in all inventory control programs such as ordering, inventory, stocking, pricing, quantities and monitoring of usage as required by Maxor.</li> </ol>
Requirements: <strong>Education:</strong> Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy.
