Overview: Automation Specialist will be required to program, test, validate, maintain, and manage building HVAC, lighting and monitoring systems and components. Typical components consist of Relays, Transducers, Sensors, Actuators, Automatic Dampers, Automatic Valves, Power Supplies, and so forth. Specialist should have a working knowledge of various system types including Pneumatic, Electric/Electronic, Digital, and Analog, and Direct Digital Control (DDC). Specialist should have a working knowledge of integration involving BACnet, Lon and Modbus. Specialist are expected to drive new projects to completion. Lead and participate in the system checkout at device and functional levels, troubleshooting and modify programs as needed.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Work with the project team to insure the proper installation of DDC systems.</li> <li>Insure proper checkout of device wiring and operation.</li> <li>Insure proper functional operation of the system at all level.</li> <li>Install trouble-shoot and modify programs to meet the sequence of operation.</li> <li>Work with program development team to create programs meeting McKenney’s standards.</li> <li>Performing system database maintenance and back-up/restore functions as needed.</li> <li>Thorough working knowledge of sensor troubleshooting utilizing standard hand tools, DVM, and digital metering or calibration equipment (digital thermometer, hygrometer, etc.)</li> <li>Working knowledge of PCs and computer networking.</li> <li>Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and schematics.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <h6><strong><u>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</u></strong></h6> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>4 years experience working with HVAC Building Automation systems</li> <li>Associates degree (or comparable vocational training or experience) in related field</li> </ul> <p style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</p> <h5><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></h5> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree (or equivalent experience) in related field.</li> <li>Experience in HVAC Controls or Building Automation.</li> <li>Tridium Certification.</li> <li>Distech Controls experience.</li> <li>Advanced competency in computer networking and client/server environments.</li> </ul> <p style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></strong></p> <p style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</p> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Must have a professional appearance.</li> <li>Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals</li> <li>Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance.</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.</li> <li>Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, with ability to work well as part of a team and independently</li> </ul> <p style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:</u></strong></p> <p style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</p> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment</li> <li>Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations.</li> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.</li> <li>Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li>Light physical effort.
