Overview: <h4>The BIM Project Manager role will be responsible for coordinating BIM support on construction projects.&nbsp;&nbsp; The best candidate for the position will successfully start projects with accurate, timely, coordinated models that represent our construction team and coordination conditions.&nbsp;&nbsp;</h4> <p>You will generate an internal BIM execution plan that includes project goals, the BIM schedule, and the GC BIM coordination plan with the PM team before a project begins.&nbsp;&nbsp; The BIM Project Manager will work as a liaison between McKenney&rsquo;s Project Manager, the Customer, and the Virtual Construction team to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the BIM plan.&nbsp;</p> <p>They will ensure that the Virtual Construction team members have what is needed to complete the work effectively.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The work performed will follow according to the company&rsquo;s objectives and goals.&nbsp;</p> <p>Interaction with other Virtual Construction Supervisors, Project Managers, Field Foreman, and other trade subcontractors will be required.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <br /><br />Develop and implement a project-specific internal BIM execution plan that includes:<br /> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Virtual Construction kick-off meetings defining roles of the PM team, project scope, schedules, and drawing log</li> <li>Facilitate three-week look-ahead weekly meetings and progress reviews with Virtual Construction team members and the project team</li> <li>Track and share action items in Smartsheet</li> <li>Submittal priorities</li> <li>Manage the Project RFI process</li> <li>Handle change orders and the incorporation into the models and cost code strategy for tracking changes</li> <li>Project drawing log expectations and schedule</li> <li>Project information flow between the Virtual Construction team, field teams, and project managers</li> <li>Internal BIM Coordination plan to prevent clashes</li> <li>BIM coordination meeting attendance and prevention of &ldquo;scope creep&rdquo; during coordination</li> <li>Ensure timely and efficient resolution of clashes identified during the coordination process</li> <li>Internal drawing review strategy including Virtual Construction peer review, field review, and PM review of drawings</li> <li>Coordinate work package identification with field leaders early in the project process to reduce rework</li> <li>Coordinate workflow and Trimble use plan with PMs and Trimble technician</li> <li>Plan for model and estimate cost comparison</li> <li>Maximize prefabrication opportunities with field leaders and project managers</li> <li>Archive process for coordinated signed-off models</li> <li>Facilitate the resolution of clashes identified in the field during the installation</li> <li>Coordinate Virtual Construction resources to support documentation and optimal On Time rates</li> <li>Plan for as-built condition drawing/model production</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <br /> <br /> <ul> <li>Ensure information (backgrounds, construction documents, submittals, RFIs, and drawing logs) is available promptly for Virtual Construction team members to meet project schedules and goals</li> <li>Develop, manage, and reconcile project BIM schedules with overall project schedules</li> <li>Ensure company standards are consistently maintained concerning shop drawing file structures</li> <li>Manage VC EAC updates and perform appropriate updates with the project manager in dynamics</li> <li>Manage VC performance against estimated (P/R) ratio to a value of 1.0 or less by managing scope and eliminating downtime</li> <li>Support quantity tracking by ensuring the cost analysis is setup, consistently withdrawing efforts so modeled quantities can be tracked through fabrication and installation</li> <li>Facilitate implementation &amp; education for the shop drawing log to produce alignment</li> <li>Get feedback and proposed updates for continuous innovation</li> <li>Coordinate fabrication participation as required, and design integration to Drawing Log schedule</li> <li>Champion the implementation of new technology solutions to support coordination, fabrication, and installation like reality capture, virtual reality, or augmented reality</li> </ul> <br />
Requirements: <p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>HS Diploma GED</li> <li>Minimum of eight (8) years working in Virtual Construction or a mechanical trade, five (5) years providing primary project management responsibilities on projects, or five (5) years leading projects as a foreman or superintendent.</li> <li>Minimum of three (3) years working on BIM Coordinated construction projects.&nbsp;</li> <li>Must have advanced PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with Microsoft Dynamics</li> <li>Experience with Autodesk Fabrication, Revit, and Navisworks</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS &amp; ABILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to read and interpret architectural construction documents</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret mechanical design and shop drawings</li> <li>Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li> <li>Commitment to detail and deadlines</li> <li>Excellent time management skills, able to handle many competing priorities</li> <li>Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance</li> <li>Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others</li> <li>Commitment to continuous improvement while adhering to standard processes and procedures</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS &amp; PHYSICAL EFFORT:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work will be performed in both a normal office environment and on active construction project sites</li> <li>Limited exposure to physical risks</li> <li>A limited physical effort will be required</li> </ul>
