At McKenney&rsquo;s&nbsp;our co-ops are an integral part of the success for our projects and the company, and we rely on and encourage their fresh ideas.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>As a co-op, you will be part of the team from day one and given training and tasks that are important and impactful to our projects' success.&nbsp;McKenney's has a long history of success in hiring Co-ops and supporting their growth into well rounded leaders. Much of our Executive Leadership team, Operations Managers, and senior leaders started in the Co-op&nbsp;program. The Co-ops work in a collaborative team environment under the leadership of the Project Managers and perform duties like an Assistant Project Manager while transforming the skyline and existing spaces throughout the Southeast.&nbsp;</p>
Responsibilities: <p>The responsibilities and job skills learned are primarily dependent upon the individual Co-op's drive, determination, and ability to learn and function on a multi-disciplinary project team.&nbsp;&nbsp;A typical day can range from coordinating scheduled activities at the project site, to collecting vital warranty data and analyzing patterns, and/or helping to come up with engineering solutions.&nbsp;&nbsp;A successful Co-op will learn how to estimate projects and scopes of work, work directly with vendors to purchase material and equipment, and support Field Foreman and customer needs through scheduling and site logistics management.&nbsp;Experienced, successful Co-ops will have the opportunity to run jobs from inception, through construction and final job closeout, under the guidance of their Project Manager.</p> <p><strong><u>RESPONSIBILITIES</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Co-Ops will facilitate the creation of building permanent reporting capabilities using Smartsheet or other software/technologies for the warranty team and internal customers.</li> <li>Co-Ops will coordinate with vendors and outside contractors to schedule and procure material and equipment purchases for the various jobs.</li> <li>Co-Ops will regularly update scheduling for various warranty jobs.</li> <li>Co-Ops will assist the Warranty Manager with collection and documentation of Warranty incident data</li> <li>Co-Ops will Assist Warranty Manager in developing multiple feedback strategies or mechanisms intended to educate and train our field workforce on our most common problems</li> <li>Co-Ops will Assist Warranty Manager in data input into warranty tracking software.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p>
Requirements: <p><strong>Candidates&nbsp;</strong><strong>must be able to complete 3 full-time, alternating co-op rotations in Atlanta prior to their graduation.&nbsp;&nbsp;Students must be enrolled in a co-op program at an accredited engineering school majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial&nbsp;Engineering,&nbsp;Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems.</strong></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Self-motivated and team-orientated</li> <li>Ability to use time productively in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.</li> <li>Must be a self-starter with ability to work well independently and as part of a team</li> <li>Maintain a strong attention to detail</li> <li>Ability to effectively communicate across a diverse group of people (PMs, drafting, field staff, fabrication shops, etc.).</li> </ul> <br /><br /> <p>Moving Safety Forward, our initiative for continuous improvements in our safety culture, reminds us that we are on a journey toward a zero-incident culture.
