Overview: McKenney's Inc. is seeking experienced Service Technicians to join our team in Atlanta, GA.&nbsp;&nbsp;We are a thriving company with 75 years of exceptional service to the Southeast.&nbsp;&nbsp;The&nbsp;&nbsp;HVAC Service Technicians will be required to&nbsp;&nbsp;perform skilled work in the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment systems. Under the direction of the Service Operations Manager a Technician will install, diagnose, inspect, repair, maintain and service a wide variety of mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities: :<br /> <ul> <li>Adjust and install switches, gauges, thermostats, valves, tubing, transformers, pressure regulators, controllers, and other parts.</li> <li>Determine requirements for parts, materials, supplies, tools and equipment; establish cost of repairs and equipment</li> <li>Install, diagnose, inspect, repair, maintain, and service a wide variety of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment and systems.</li> <li>Determine and schedule preventative maintenance for customers and perform preventative maintenance, while ensuring areas are covered for time and material.</li> <li>Replace all parts on HVAC equipment and mechanics</li> <li>Adjust and install switches, gauges, thermostats, valves, tubing, transformers, pressure regulators, controllers, and other parts.</li> <li>Determine requirements for parts, materials, supplies, tools and equipment; establish cost of repairs and equipment replacement; check and test new equipment.</li> <li>Operate specialized machinery, equipment and tools utilized in the repair and maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning.</li> <li>Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in a safe and orderly condition.</li> <li>Perform related duties that are assigned.</li> <li>Perform on call duties for after hours during the week and weekends</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p><strong><u>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp;</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>High School graduate or GED.</li> <li>Valid Georgia driver&rsquo;s license.</li> <li>5 years of Apprentice School or a Technical School degree, or a 5-year combination of Journeyman-level experience.</li> <li>EPA Universal Certification</li> <li>Clear MVR</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp;</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Preference of 10 plus years&rsquo; experience</li> <li>Associate&rsquo;s degree or Technical Certification</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,&nbsp;ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Follow oral/written instructions and directions</li> <li>Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.</li> <li>Work cooperatively with others.</li> <li>Work independently with little direction</li> <li>Meet schedules and timelines</li> <li>Maintain routine records</li> <li>Observe legal and defensive driving practices</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to climb and work at heights, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, bending, pushing, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds.</li> <li>Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments; must also be able to drive in various conditions to conduct work in extreme elements</li> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.</li> <li>Work environment involves some exposure to construction, mechanical and electrical-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li>Work requires local and occasional out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations.</li> <li>Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and scaffolds and to negotiate work areas under construction.</li> </ul>
