Overview: In this role, you will work in a team environment to design and develop commercial and industrial HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.&nbsp;You will interface with clients, negotiate project scope, perform technical studies (due diligence, feasibility reports, etc.), and perform load calculations, energy simulations, and equipment selections.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Develop, negotiate and maintain engineering scope for projects.<br />Work with Operations Team to align construction budgets with engineering scope.</li> <li>Perform and review detailed load calculations utilizing Trane Trace 700 and interpret the results.</li> <li>Perform life-cycle cost analysis among system alternatives to determine the energy impacts of each and assist in system selection.</li> <li>Ensure compliance of all designs with applicable codes, standards, and regulations.</li> <li>Coordinate mechanical requirements with the architects, and electrical, structural &amp; civil engineers.</li> <li>Review and produce written specifications and sequences of operation.</li> <li>Identify and meet our commitments to the customer (owners, general contractors, etc.), design/construction team members (architects, electrical engineers, other trade contractors, etc.), and internal customers.</li> <li>Assist in managing and developing corporate clients such as architects, developers, general contractors, and other consulting engineering firms.</li> <li>Prioritize the workload to identify and complete critical path items on time consistent with the job schedule.</li> <li>Develop HVAC documents including, but not limited to duct sizing &amp; routing, air distribution selection, pipe sizing &amp; routing.</li> <li>Develop Plumbing documents, including but not limited to, sanitary and vent sizing, domestic cold water and hot water sizing, and pipe routings.</li> <li>Perform job site inspections and field reports.</li> <li>Effectively and personally organize your work team.&nbsp;</li> <li>Provide input and technical guidance to Revit designers/drafters and mechanical engineers.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering (Preferably Mechanical Engineering)<br />Registered Professional Engineer</li> <li>A minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in the commercial/industrial HVAC field.</li> <li>A minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience in the design and development of mechanical and plumbing system layouts and/or responsibility for project management for these systems.</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to convey technical requirements/systems in fundamental terms that non-technical clients can understand.</li> <li>Understanding of costs of mechanical systems and installation.</li> <li>Proficient with MS Office and a general understanding of AutoCAD</li> <li>Experience with Trane Trace 700 load and energy modeling software.&nbsp;</li> </ul>
