Overview: <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">This position will provide management of fast paced, Healthcare and Research projects for client partners in one of the fastest growing, sustainable market-segments in the construction industry. In this key role, you will &nbsp;continue to develop your skills and experience by managing Healthcare and Research projects ranging in size and complexity from small renovations inside existing healthcare facilities to large greenfield new construction hospitals, labs, and medical office buildings in the Atlanta, Georgia&nbsp;area.&nbsp; Come be a part of the growing Healthcare and Research team at McKenney&rsquo;s and have an impact on people&rsquo;s lives!</span></p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</span></p>
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Responsible for managing the installation of HVAC and Plumbing (Atlanta) that meets code requirements, budget, and on time installation.</li> <li>Asses the project to determine issues and conditions.</li> <li>Manage the equipment selection and procurement process, to include equipment comparisons and savings estimates.</li> <li>Negotiate and prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders and evaluate submittals to reflect of work and specifications.</li> <li>Oversee development of project schedule and coordinate between contractor and client.</li> <li>Monitor/control construction through site visits, meetings, calls, and documentation to ensure is completed on schedule and within budget.</li> <li>Represent in project meetings, assist in negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.</li> <li>Prepare and manage aspects of contracts.</li> <li>Manage the project budget and communicate changes and variances.</li> <li>Keep all participants and stakeholders informed in order to bring the job in on time and under budget.</li> <li>Provide project closeout documentation.</li> <li>Build and maintain strong customer relations with trade partners, vendor partners, and client partners</li> <li>Timely invoicing of all work completed to date and conscientious follow-up on collection of money due to ensure positive cash flow</li> </ul>
Requirements: <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS</strong></span></p> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>A degree in Engineering or Building Construction or a HS diploma with at least 3 years of construction management experience in the mechanical trades</li> <li>Must have basic PC experience in Windows applications, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software</li> </ul> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</span></p> <h5 style="font-weight: 600;"><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</strong></h5> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Minimum of 5 years of experience managing Healthcare Research mechanical work</li> <li>Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent education or experience</li> </ul> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></strong></span></p> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Strong leadership skills, self-motivated, detail-oriented, team-oriented, and able to respond quickly to changing customer demands.</li> <li>Strong desire to provide excellent customer service</li> <li>Must be able to reason through and solve problems</li> <li>Professional and polished image that inspires confidence and trust</li> <li>Ability to read and understand drawings; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, architectural, civil, structural</li> </ul> <p style="font-weight: 400;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;"><strong><u>WORKING CONDITIIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORTS</u></strong></span></p> <ul style="font-weight: 400;"> <li>Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.</li> <li>Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.</li> <li>Light physical effort.
