Overview: The Senior Financial Analyst's main duties include coordinating the company's overall budgeting process to create a detailed operating budget by business unit as well as creating financial reports, analyses, and decision support models that help management analyze and interpret trends, profit and support center performance, and the financial benefits of the Company's financial commitments and obligations. Candidates must have a solid understanding of financial management concepts, and business performance evaluation methods. Another crucial task for the ideal applicant is the capacity to deftly interpret and offer condensed insights based on numerous forms of data. Effective communication of analysis through executive-level presentations is essential, as are interpersonal skills, the ability to influence, and the proven ability to partner with and build productive working relationships with key personnel across the business.
Responsibilities: <ul> <li>Compiling data and preparing general financial analysis and operations metrics analysis.</li> <li>Design Tableau dashboards and reports in partnership with the Finance team.</li> <li>Monitor financial and operational trends and prepare reporting, insights, and recommendations.</li> <li>Advanced knowledge and use of BI tools, and spreadsheets to analyze financial results.</li> <li>Responsible for management and tracking of key business metrics for operations and division teams.</li> <li>Assist in preparing monthly reporting of financial metrics for the business leaders.</li> <li>Evaluate new projects, calculate ROI, payback period, and burdens, and analyze the financial impact on the organization.</li> <li>Interface with other departments within the company to ensure the timely and accurate flow of financial data.</li> <li>Assist in determining the annual business plan process by providing the financial impact of key alternatives.</li> <li>Develop corporate overhead expense analysis and coordinate cost center reviews with department managers.</li> <li>Work with CFO, Controller, and Company management to develop and maintain a long-range planning and performance model.</li> <li>Able to partner with and work effectively at all levels of the organization and within all areas of the Company.</li> <li>Prepare and review projections, analyses, and statistical reports.</li> <li>Analyze revenue and expenditure variances, trends, and metrics relative to the budget and prepare/communicate monthly management reports including recommendations.</li> <li>Continually seek out opportunities to improve reporting and gain operational efficiencies to reduce wasted effort and associated costs.</li> <li>Interface with the accounting team for analysis of actual vs. budget variances and trends.</li> <li>Perform special projects as assigned.</li> </ul>
Requirements: <ul> <li>Minimum of 3 to 5 years of financial analysis and budget experience&nbsp;</li> <li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent.</li> <li>Advanced excel and query skills, including formulas, financial functions, pivot tables, vlookups, SQL, and design and formatting of analyses for executive presentations.</li> <li>Self-starter with flexibility and willingness to balance complex, competing priorities</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</u>&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Solomon Accounting software experience</li> <li>Construction or manufacturing accounting experience</li> <li><strong>MBA or MS in Finance, Business, Accounting or equivalent</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong><u>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>High aptitude for learning and strong work ethic</li> <li>Strong analytical skills</li> <li>Keen ability to analyze data and introduce new methods and tools for doing so.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li> <li>Able to rapidly absorb and assimilate technical information&nbsp;</li> <li>Maintain a flexible attitude and work schedule to accommodate changing business conditions and management expectations</li> <li>Able to use time productively, maximize efficiency, and meet challenging work goals</li> <li>Demonstrate superior customer service levels and ability to build trust amongst the customer base</li> <li>Able to demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals and deadlines</li> <li>Acts with integrity and understands how to hold confidences and protect confidential information.</li> </ul>
